"Apply for the 1 week USB access exception and get all your personal files off your work laptop." - when I was at ford, I used oneDrive for this. You can connect from any pc, does not require vpn, at least it didn't before. Warning, they do monitor what you transfer onto USB drives even with the exception. I once saved an ECU flash image onto a usb drive from my ford laptop in order to quickly copy it onto my ford linux machine. IT flagged it to my manager and I had to explain. That's actually when I started using oneDrive exclusively and let my USB drive exception expire.

In this environment all workers should be prepared for a cut , and not have any personal files left on your work PC. Apply for the 1 week USB access exception and get all your personal files off your work laptop. Make copies of all your work contacts as well as you might need to use them as references in your post Ford career.
What’s the current severance offered? I left last year.

Calling Jim and Bill "lying snakes" is terribly insulting ... to snakes, that is. I would much rather spend time with a ball python or a garter snake than with a member of Ford's current senior management team.

SIRP'd in August. My 9:30am "get out" meeting wasn't scheduled until 8:30am the morning of. With a higher up who had been AWOL for weeks as the evil plot came together.

First real clue? Couldn't email attachments. Second, email to entire company from Jim and Bill expressing how sorry they were that separations were "necessary'. Lying snakes.

By the way, for those who find themselves in this predicament, use Gmail, attach a file then save as draft. When you go to drafts on another device the attachment will be there.

Good luck you all. I am happy I was let go in August when there were still plenty of good jobs. Job market is vastly different now.

"Here's what to watch for - this is what tipped me off last August when I got canned - an unexpected brief meeting pops up on your calendar with a senior leader. "

Yep, that's kind of what happened to me last August. I had actually applied for and was accepted into a new department. Had been there 3 weeks when the supervisor of my former supervisor scheduled such a meeting with me. I didn't see it until 7:30am Monday morning, was scheduled for 8:30am that day. I had no clue what was coming..."your services are no longer needed effective immediately, blah blah.

So yeah, I agree with this poster, that's how they did it in the past. Maybe this time they will copy google and simply send emails meanwhile disabling your logins.

The townhall will address position eliminations over the next 3 months. they will try to mimick GMs voluntary offer.

Also, with earnings around the corner they will wait til after financial numbers are finalized to do any separation.

I agree completely. I thought it would be hilarious to decline it. I knew some colleagues that received phone calls the next morning from their LL6 to confirm that they had received the meeting invite and telling them that they had to join.

When I received the meeting notice, I actually texted the LL4 - knowing full well that they received the text message - I said 'just tell me know and begin the process. Don't make me wait, and not bother with the meeting'. No response. I was even annoyed with that, but I suspect there's a procedure that Legal tells them to follow.

What really annoyed me, is that during the meeting, (it was a female LL4 that I had never met) she acted like she was just about to cry because this was just so difficult for her. Honestly, i could tolerate being let go - sometimes s--t happens, but the fake emotion really annoyed me. Just made the whole process feel phony.

I later learned that I was one of the consulting group selections. I was paid highly enough and young enough that it looked good to include me along with all the pensioners.

@2yig+1lHk36rF. The meeting notice is too late. A Sunday evening notice for a Monday morning meeting? What sc-m management is - not even giving you reasonable notice. Since the purpose of the meeting is obvious, people should decline the meeting with f u as the response. Or just ignore the meeting notice entirely - sorry, already had other plans. Why give the manager any respect? It is not like they are important to you any more.

I take these 'warnings' with a grain of salt. Regardless of who is saying it - 'F150 Guy' or any of the others, they have been wrong far more times than they have been right. This isn't an attack on F150 Guy or his mouth piece here on the forum.

Here's what to watch for - this is what tipped me off last August when I got canned - an unexpected brief meeting pops up on your calendar with a senior leader.

Mine showed up Sunday evening for Monday morning. 30 minutes with an LL4 I had never met. I checked her calendar and she had 3 hours worth of these private 30 minute meetings scheduled back to back. I was the last one. After my meeting, the rest of my team received the 'all clear'.

And the day of, I wasn't able to email anything at all to any address outside of the Ford network. I tried attaching my resume and it got flagged. I tried cutting / pasting the resume content and it still got flagged. I even tried logging into a junk email account (yahoo) and attaching the file there and a message popped up saying it was denied to protect company confidentiality or something like that.

So watch for an unexpected meeting with a higher up, and watch for limited computer access / usage.

I also heard of a few people that had gone to the office the day of SIRP and their door cards were turned off.

Good luck everyone.

What about Ford Credit Layoffs? Any word on that?

Ford needs to clean house! So, expect huge budget cuts, followed by agency cuts, then employees. If you have been too lazy to make a move, this will be your time! The sales are plunging. GM knows it and they are downsizing now as you know!

And funnily enough Ford hired all the Kmart IT dregs (the ones hanging on until the end with no other prospects). Our team was recipient of 5 of these, none of which provided any value. They did fit in well with the sit and twirl euchre playing crowd. One is the queen of filing patent applications for extra $. You know the patent applications which describe coding techniques that are taught in compsci 101. LOL. Oh well better she is wasting time on patent applications than stirring pots.

Pretty funny to read troll comments. Loll. No one comes here because the Co is doing great.

The Co has been and is failing. At Kmart the last to go were the cleanup managers on aisle 6.

@1uhj the problem is and has always been Ford leadership.
They build massive teams of friends and family in order to build their own careers.
Until Ford eliminates all the LL5 and LL3 the issue will continue as they NEVER cull the non-contributors.

I would like to know why Ford can't layoff or fire those useless employees who don't do anything at work or staying home.

Ask the F150 guy is it’s across the entire organization or if it focuses on certain areas. Ie: PD, IT, Manufacturing, M&S. #s would help too. Posting that it’s going to happen and providing no high level details is anxiety producing and crazy making.

It makes for more questions with no answers. Ie: severance structure, etc.

Seriously, do not mock or disrespect the F150 guy. In the past, he’s been right about layoffs. Thank you for the heads up, F150 guy.

Ok fair enough, I apologize for my "comedy club" comment below then. Would have been better to have stated that up front OP.

Good luck to all of you. I was let go in August 2022 but come here periodically to see whats going on. I did love working at Ford but have moved on to new challenges. :)

I guess it’s fair to say when layoffs are close to happening the buzz is real and multiple people can confirm reports. As of now, I think a bunch of people are trolls trying to say I told you so.

To answer the question " Did the F150 guy tell you how many people and what areas? “Some layoffs” is pretty vague."
No we did not cover the numbers. We did talk about GM numbers, another guy had hard numbers for that...

Well I was wrong. Good luck. Like the OP I have a higher up that gives me the dirt. He said this will affect all levels. And that no one is safe! Hold on to your hats.....
