Thread regarding Change Healthcare layoffs

Is Optum preparing to sell us?

The company has been laying off a significant number of experienced employees, from top executives to entry-level staff, without considering their value to the company's success. They are eliminating positions held by people with expertise in products, customer relationships, knowledge of the business and customer base, company culture, and team members, leaving a void that is sometimes filled by external hires with little knowledge, which has resulted in the company's decline.

The only possible reason for the company to take such a self-destructive approach is to improve its financial situation for yet another potential sale. It appears that another round of layoffs is expected at the end of the month, and some employees including myself are hoping to be offered a severance package instead of quitting on their own. "Quiet Quitting" seems to be the new approach for many employees.

This whole situation is abominable - total lack of respect for people and inducing an incredible amount of undue stress which is completely uncalled for. Despicable culture based on fear. Difficult to determine fact from fiction. Unclear who is a foe or an ally anymore. Each trying to just survive and/or save themselves. Horrific isn't a strong enough term.

It is really tough to be client facing and have to put on a front. I used to love my job but now I just do it and wait on the next bo-b to drop.

That is a highly plausible explanation. This feels like something straight out of a movie where leadership appears to have been strategically placed from external sources with the intention of undermining the organization. Truly amazing
