@1qdg+1lJSFb4c They always were going to be a formidable opponent, but if we didn't waste 5 years milking 14nm for stock buybacks and dividends we would've been at similar level right now, without need to put the company on the brink of bankruptcy to catch up. Mobile market is significant, but so is server which is still dominated by x86 and has much greater profit margins. If we didn't let AMD take chunk of it and force us to lower prices we would've been swimming in cash right now, sufficient to ramp up foundry business to support ASICs, ARM etc.

Actually this post shows the ignorance of Intel folks.

TSMC was never going to be stopped. Bill, Sohail and the BoD were and are incapable of understanding the situation now or ten years ago.

Paul and the BoD missed the mobile and turned done Apple. This made TSMC no different than IBM selection of 8088 made Intel and Motorola and others including IBM with PowerPC couldn’t stop.

The most laughable thing Pat can’t see it yet he played that game.
