Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

We can't have any more layoffs!

Who the he-l does BNY Mellon think is gonna do the work in the future?! With all these damn layoffs, massive attrition rates, and barely anyone being hired anymore to fill the damn vacancies - who the he-l does BNY Mellon expect to do the work if this keeps up?

Like it or not our H1Bs are saving our bacon. Work their tails off with a great attitude and no slacking like unmotivated Americans in the lower roles.

Gee wiz, enough with the H1Bs. Even if they were top notch, you’d still have to train them and some roles take several months to obtain that proficiency needed. My old team has people jumping ship ASAP because the manager is terrible.

America only depends on highly skilled H1b - all are young and better looking than other workers

They'll hire a twice as many Patel's to do the needful.
@vbu, AI will certainly be a factor in operations but how much of our resources go into that?

H1B workers are reliable and outwork Americans with no drama. They’ll get us through until the AI technologies improve.

You’ve seen how jobs have changed and gone away due to AI.

I would expect they are still early days in deploying AI to eliminate humans.
