Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Lack of transparency? It is sad actually...

At this point, I believe mostly all Ford employees, except the "anointed" ones by last name, fiefdom affiliation or brown nosing, are aware that they could be let go at any moment. Big name companies are letting go thousands of employees. Across town, our profitable rival GM is willing to buy out around 12-15K employees. Which begs the question, what the unprofitable FMC is going to do?

The C-suite only talks about the future of electric rainbows and green unicorns, while most of us are wishing for them to diss the pink sunglasses and smell the sh!t. We know the company is in an unsustainable path, and we are going to shed numbers. However, the lack of transparency is making people go crazy. From the F150 guy to the threads of Outlook issues, including the mandatory assistance to the TH tomorrow, everyone is paranoid and believing they will be next. This is actually SAD to watch, as much from the personal anguish as from the work load impact. It is just NOT healthy for everyone involved.

We should be hearing from our "leaders" a simple and easy to follow plan, or at least some transparency. However, the latter are reserved for the stockholders, according to the last email from JF, which on Thursday will be providing them with "unprecedent transparency". Well, what about some transparency for us as well, JF? We are not that important to you, aren't we?

As J.K. Rowling said, If you want to see the true measure of a man, watch how he treats his inferiors, not his equals. Based on how you are treating your "troops", with all the public lies and bashing of the employees, I must say you are an awful leader, JF, and Bill Ford is even a worse one by letting Farley get away with it. Bill, you are going to reap what you sow: Farley will go away with millions and the shame, but you are going to lose the company.

BTW, naming it the Ford Operating System is stupid. Not the naming game, nor the splitting in divisions, nor the hiring from "IT companies" personnel, nor the wishes from Bill or Farley, will make FMC an IT, software, or tech company. It is just a manufacturing company, and bad at it seeing the number of recalls. Remember a pig with lipstick, it is still a pig, and a very dirty one having you both on top.

Hey All,

Passing along the 1st info from F250 Guy - you can refer to her as Quin. Regarding employees, there is strong internal evidence many higher ups and HR do have legitimate concerns with the work ethic of new and recent grads. Sources point to most simply want to learn how to move up and don't seem to prioritize doing the work at hand with above average quality. Layoffs have been discussed in the ranks but many have fear of finding quality replacements or new hires. I don't ultimately know where this may go, but rest assure, upper management is somewhat skeptical of any big layoffs in the near future.

Hi guys some good news, I did get a job for one of Ford engineers and he got the job offer today with 20 K more in another OEM.
Just thought since I said some bad news from F 150 Guy, I might share some good news.
I think many of Ford guys are very smart and sharp.

Keep in mind that WFH facilitates Downsizing. If your building is still there intact and still owned by the co then why are we not back in the office.

All the F150 guys and F250 gals signed a NDA. Don’t expect clarity from those promised riches for their solidarity.

Unless we are moving overseas we will be out of a job with this company. Or we can hang with model e for a while if we can get an approval to join them.

I used to feel alone in these views, but since this board and talking to people many of us go through the same struggles. Ford is a three class society. If you are a GSR nobody cares about you unless you are a pet. Once you get to LL6-4 you have a club membership with secret knowledge that some do share because they are as disenfranchised as the GSRs. LL3 and up is a cult, beyond reproach. I mean you see it; these people are a shell of a person, basically a hologram programmed to play mind tricks and distort reality. I hate how the government gives companies like Ford tax payer money; they create no jobs but constantly reduce them every year. The projects that get the money nowadays are losers (wait till the CATL deal fully materializes). Free market although ruthless is the equalizer. Without the tenets of it cheats and liars will continue to thrive until people stop buying. We are almost there and my fear is the government is going to stop incentivizing EVs and just force consumers into them. When that day comes I don’t know how bad it will be, but I can tell you I will go to the middle of nowhere. It will be my only hope at having a decent life. This is no way to live.
