Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Tomorrow’s the big day!!!

Wooo! Godspeed all! Time to “Chuck” the chaff and get rid of all of these mortgage monkeys. Loan consultant, loan specialist, private mortgage banker. All synonymous with dead weight. Good luck y’all. Time to actually get a productive job that actually contributes to society and stop saying we all “love to make people’s home ownership dreams come true.” Lol. We were there to do as little as possible and collect our fee.

For as long as I can remember mortgage has suffered ups and downs. I worry about the latest MBA management fad which seems to be extracting shareholder $$$ as fast as they can. The business schools fail to teach ethics and moderation, everything has to be more, more, more and ASAP. I suspect when the powers hear of the grumblings, they discount their validity, even when so many departments are suffering from critical shortages, complex manual processes, and lack of systems functionality to fully do their jobs.

“Remember that mortgage has historically been a money maker for the bank. Your cheering its demise -- and the demise of those affected by these layoffs -- really shows us all who you are.”

Yep. Wells Fargo at one time had the best mortgage business in the industry. Consistent pricing, excellent jumbo product and rates, relationships with WFA and WIM, nationwide lending, ability to withstand tough markets without disruption……the current regime doesn’t like it though and wants Wells to look like Citi or JPM. Another Wall Street bank. Sad state of affairs.

OP, shut your pie hole, your ignorance is showing! They are a lot of hardworking professionals in the mortgage industry that are not loan officers. They have families and households to support.

A little respect is too much to ask of a fool. May you be crying in your soup later today, it's early!

I agree that the mortgage folks work hard. The only problem is that WF no longer cares about work, and doesn't want to be in the mortgage business. Best of luck to all the peeps that will be downsized in the coming year.

Lot of tards in this thread, as usual. Bunch of jealous losers who didn’t have the ba--s to work a commission only job and bust their a-s to bring in business. Mortgage bankers don’t get paid lots of money to sit around and answer the phone. Those are call center jobs.
