No massive RIF this week. Small one, at best.

God, I seriously hope they outsource my team in VCG. We already clean up messes made by SPC, Indirect stores, and even lazy corpos. I would love to see the look on the SPC POCs face the next time they try pass to pass the buck to us and realize that it will be passed back.

Goodbye Customer Care. They're replacing you with with someone who is outsourced from another country. Enjoy.

Not that I care but I can say with 100% certainty the OP is full of sh*t.

I expect 2-3000 people to be laid off

Nowhere close to 10% lol.

10% across all orgs or in a certain org?

Talked to a Band 5, it’s happening….10%

VGS as a group is over staffed with lots of duplicate roles. It’s all masked with internal staff and an army of outsource people.

A lot of non-essential roles were moved from other orgs over to VGS … expect RIFs to hit every org, especailly VCG

VGS is was created to eliminate employees so it would be surprising if they arent.

Here is the story of VZ Headcount Over Time:
https://www.macrotrends.net/stocks/charts/VZ/verizon/number-of-employees

Notice a trend? Unfortunately, I don't see a reason this won't continue:

  • Automation
  • Outsourcing Overseas (Cheaper is not always better)
  • Squeezing teams and resources

@2ayn+1lLPFI49 that is so freaking funny because independently before reading your post I had thought the same thing, like wow isn't it odd that all these kind of diversive dividing threads come up conveniently after that post and when these forums have been pretty dead over the last week or so.

You know the rumors are serious because there has been a huge uptick in racist and off topic posts in the other threads. HR uses that technique to get threads derailed off topic or deleted.

With the VZ stock the same price as it was pre-VZ in 1998, with all these empty buildings, with leadership closing cafes and eliminating gym employees, with repairs not being addressed in my store like they have been in the past, and with rising interest rates impacting the payments on all the debt we have… and the list goes on. If we have a poor performance in the first quarter Leadership will need to change coarse to save the ship from sinking.

Rumors abound in Basking Ridge after Executive Briefing. Massive RIF to occur next Thursday due to poor 1Q. Company wide impact and total restructure. Way too many people in the know at this point for it to be a false alarm.

Per heu+1lLPFI49:
In November 2022, an request for proposal was issued in the market for the purpose of rebadging the workforce of more than 4000+ employees. Currently, negotiations with various vendors are underway, and this is expected to result in a significant reduction in the workforce.

The 1B contract with Infy in 2018/2019 is up at the end of this year. VZ will need to renew the Infy contract or go with another vendor. Regardless, VZ will take the opportunity to do the same thing they did in 2018 and rebadge thousands of VZ employees to Infy or whoever.

I assume all of the "various vendors" we are in "negotiations with" are from India.

It is a major conflict of interest for VZ Indian execs/managers to only select vendors from their home country. They get away with this by giving a few Americans (particularly women) high paying exec positions to simply sign the paperwork so that it doesn't look like a conflict of interest.

Part of the reason they rebadge Americans to Infy or other Indian contractors is because the law prohibits companies from laying off American workers and replacing them with H1B. So they use the rebadged American employees to get around this law. VZ will say they are replacing a laid off American employee with a rebadged employee. But it is generally not true except on paper.

Not privy to these type of conversations, but I can share that there will be a reduction in the Capital allocated in VCG. There is usually Opex (headcount) tied to spending, driving the Capital spend.

It’s been quietly happening every month…and will continue. I heard from three people that received notices already who will be off payroll the beginning of April. This is far from over. In another post someone mentioned empty buildings, which in turn will mean less mailroom/security/coaches and facilities people. Overproduce and you’ll have nothing to worry about. Darwin’s theory!

In November 2022, an request for proposal was issued in the market for the purpose of rebadging the workforce of more than 4000+ employees. Currently, negotiations with various vendors are underway, and this is expected to result in a significant reduction in the workforce. It is hoped that the process will be carried out truthfully this time, unlike the previous Infosys deal, where all the under performers were retained. This time, it is important to eliminate the Director, Executive Director, VP, SVP and their unproductive associates who serve no purpose other than acting as mere mail servers. In addition, it is crucial to identify individuals who engage in corrupt practices such as taking kickbacks in India and favoring India-based leaders to secure deputation transfers from Verizon India to Verizon (USA) for their children's education. The truth about such corrupt practices should be exposed (Most of the people know who from VZ is being referenced here)
