Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Ready to Pack my Bags

In all my years at this company, I’ve never wanted to quit. Hadn’t entertained leaving. Today, I’m open to all the possibilities of working for other companies. IDC if it takes a year to get a new job at a company who value’s employees. Who treats them better than widgets. Who understands how employees make the company great vs. how “they” believe the company can make great employees.

It’s a sad, sad reality.

I was retirement eligible but decided to stick around since I liked my job and coworkers. That all changed a little over a year ago. People and management were making terrible decisions and they were too stupid or arrogant to listen to anyone, that changed everything. Within 2 weeks I said enough is enough and went to HR and started the retirement process. I was gone in 6 weeks. Can’t believe what a disaster Ford has turned in to.

I see no bright shining light on the horizon.

Good luck.

Please pack your bags and go since you're all miserable.

2022 bonus was higher than 2021 (even for those that got less than 100%). Amazing how poor the company is run according to the experts on this site.

@rzq+1lLUd3qd Where did you read that?

I found this info published last Friday (Morgan Stanley price target $14)

The only 2 buzz phrases that made any sense to me were "Quality is Job 1" and "One Ford". (Boy, have we moved miles away from those 2). The rest was all like throwing cow pies against the wall to see which ones stuck. How about these for new ones..... "executive-free Ford" or "We dont know, lets give it a shot Ford" or "FFF - Farley Free Ford" or "If at first you dont succeed, try the same thing again Ford" or "My great grandpa didnt know sh!t, I know better at the Ford Train Station Company".

@xlh Can you elaborate what part of the town hall today you found inspiring? Genuinely asking.

I personally could not believe they spent all that valuable executive time ‘crafting’ the Ford OS behaviors while half the company still hasn’t memorized the ford+ behaviors. Or how any of it affects any work we do.

@xlh There's a fine line between being a company guy and an idi0t. You have crossed over into the idi0t zone.

Today I am more enthusiastic than ever about the Ford+ future. If you are an employee, then you did hear from our top leadership regarding the transformation of the company. It was inspiring.

@xek+1lLUd3qd why would you do that to friends? Do you hate your friends?

I felt the same way after the purchase of the Train Station. A friend of mine said what a great thing Ford was doing. I said there goes my profit checks. I took a package out in 2021. It wasn't going to get any better. If you got the time, just retire. Trust me, after a year out you won't miss the place. I still care about Ford. I still drive a Ford. I still get pins for my friends if they want to buy a Ford. Today, I'm much less stressed and better off.

OP+1lLUd3qd don't feel bad you are not the only one who feels (or felt) that way. I decided to retire after last year. After JF comments an the bonus debacle I decided to pull the lever. I fired them instead of them firing me.
I have people who worked for me call me and update me on the day to day things at the company. I heard today that during the Townhall JF on two occasions mentioned that even a different CEO will not make a difference.
So you don't need an MBA to figure that one out. Billy is an has been the problem. JF is just the SITH apprentice that carries out his masters wishes.
Not my problem anymore glad I took the lump sum sold any an all Ford stock. I do not have any confidence in Billy. His track record speaks for itself.
