Recently joined Honeywell, one of my colleague introduced me to this link, and now I am scared for my job, I cannot lose my job right now, please tell me if ship is really sinking this badly

Show up comatose. Believe you’re going to get promoted. Drink lots of Kool-Aid. Then everything’s OK.
Lasted less than a year. Left voluntarily. Horrible culture that fires people for sport.
Depends on SBG and SBU. I'm in Areo engineering and it's not bad. Can't speak to the other groups or units. The corporate stuff is really ridiculous but I'm pretty much isolated from it.
Honeywell has only one route to go right now. Huge contraction and simplification a la GE. It will begin this year but 2024 will be when the main execution happens.
You just gotta guess now which businesses they will keep, I can certainly guess the ones they won't. The writing is so clearly on the wall.
We had 4 new hires layed off within a year.
New hires are typically left off layoff lists for about 2 years.
But expect to start feeling the pressure to work 12 hour days as you put on 5-10lbs a year from eating your dinner out of a vending machine and no physical activity.

Yes. Yes it is.
It's not really a ship, but more like a flotilla. All of the boats are in various states of disrepair. Some have small leaks that are plugged with duct tape and others have water pouring in. Best to have a life preserver nearby and know where the life rafts are located.

Yes it is, and it's sinking on purpose. The USS HON hit the leadership iceberg about 10 years ago and has been steadily taking on water ever since. From that point till now, the captain forces out anyone who tries to bail water out of the sinking vessel and instead highlights those who add water to it. My advice is to start looking for another job and then when you have it, leave. Trust me when I tell you, there is no benefit to staying here. Staying here is just rearranging the chairs on the Titanic!

Same here. My mental health started to become an issue with the game of “caught you” they love to play. Lots of critics with no credentials. They think belittling and making people look bad makes them look good. It doesn’t.
@1iqk+1lLzZg6c I went through the same thing. I came in with with a positive attitude to put in 110%. In a span of months I was working 60+ hour weeks (much of that being unpaid overtime due to salary exempt status). Those positive feelings quickly melted away as I got to see first hand how the "record profits" are being made each year. It's a giant squeeze machine where the profits are made through furloughs, RIFS, plant closures, and constantly crushing employees through obscene amounts of unpaid overtime.
I ultimately left to save my health and it was the best decision I ever made. A year later I decided to check in to see whats going on with the place only to find out that the location I worked at was now closed and 90% of the people that worked there either left or were let go. Good thing I didn't stick around and ruin myself for nothing.
I would say the ship has started to sink just that little bit quicker recently!
The ship is slowly sinking, but like others said, It really depends on which part of company you work in, and on your team. Focus on your work, keep your eyes open (and now that you know about this site, check it from time), and take everything we or the management tell you with grain of salt.
I came into Honeywell with an extremely positive view of the office. I told everyone how much I enjoyed working here and was very grateful. Ask me now ? I would tell you to run for your life.
I don’t think I’m a victim. I can tough it out but I’m no longer willing to trade my physical and mental health. The other day I woke up feeling like I was having a heart attack and was taking deep breaths while holding my chest. I see myself visibly aging more than ever. It’s the high workload, screaming toxic people, and demoralizing manager. I can’t do this anymore. I’m doing the responsible thing for my health and I’m going to find another job.
Yes. Uncontrolled, undirected chaos.
Yes it’s really bad. Thousands of people have left to thrive in new jobs. The culture is toxic.
Why worry?
Start looking and own your destiny.
Get an offer and feel good about yourself.

@sdj+1lLzZg6c Don't know about that, this board has been pretty spot on many, many times. I have learnt a lot about the company from here, to be so dismissive makes you very suspect particularly in the current climate!
Why the question re: Aero or HBT?
Everyone here exagerates, plays the poor victim, and predicts a huge layoff or fall of the company every quarter. Don't worry too much, but keep your resume fresh. Work towards advancement, not status quo, and epxect to be treated like a super star like these people.
