Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Crickets once again

The MASSIVE layoff info posted here is a joke. 3/21 no wait 3/23. Not saying layoffs are not happening but there will never be a mass layoff all at once. Can we all agree on that?

@fui I've had completely innocuous posts taken down before. There's zero logic behind what is removed at times. It's completely up to whichever moderator is doing it that day.

I remember reading here that the layoffs this week were going to be big. Someone said 9000+. Then someone else said 7000+. Also, the date floated was 3/23. Then that switched to 3/21. Once SP's companywide town hall got cancelled then the story was the layoffs were delayed. Who knows if any of this is true. But, it wouldn't surprise me if trolls were busy providing false info.

People are removing posts here, mine from earlier today was taken down. I mentioned the number of layoffs on 3/21 and my post was removed a short time later…

It's death by a thousand cuts here. The last US person standing will only have a single task that being to turn off the lights.

Sometimes the danger of posting clearer information about layoffs and details provides little value other than add drama while at work. I prefer not to know who in my department is on here, keeps things more honest ironically.

Big picture, we can get a sense of someone's anonymous posts by how thoughtful they communicate their message. Easy to spot the garbage, easy also to spot the little bits in between that have some validity.

@oqj+1lMWJyyv ; look up my name: I work on a control team that support Mary Mack for CSBB. There are 8 on my team.

Seems anonymous to me FFS

@uzr Yeah, it's so odd that people remaining employed here try to stay as anonymous and unidentifiable as possible when posting on here. Why do you think that could be?

Our technology team lost 3 people within my 3-up manager's umbrella. I don't have the percentage or the numbers for that total organization, and I'm not going to look them up. Sure, one laid-off person is a tiny number but if it was my direct team, that would mean our total downsize since Scharf's layoffs started was roughly 33%.

Tiny number overall, but a huge number for our team if it happens. Like all things, "huge" is relative.

3/21 was significant. Last year there were two rounds of layoffs in my area (end of Sept, end of Oct). If the same pattern follows, seems fair to assume another in late April.

Funny how people just say x percent on my team but never come out and state the name of the team or at least what line of business they are supposedly. Add some credibility; list numbers, locations, LOB info.

Yea lost about 30% percent of our team as well. So much knowledge is officially gone. And now we have a few on my team sucking up big time which is probably a good thing if you plan to stay here.

All by design on the Mortgage Side. Let the big producers go first, close up the pipelines then let Ops go

Perhaps the meltdown in the regional bank sector caused delays in mass layoffs out of concern for optics.

You are never going to get "big Bang" layoff visibility in this transparent company.

A couple years ago, this board was good. There was good info being posted that turned out to be true.

Not anymore. Just filler posts and made-up layoffs.
