We should move everyone who advocates for in-office time OUT of their cozy, closed offices with beautiful views and into the cube plantations so we can see how long they would still support RTO.

I keep reading cubes. I thought they got rid of all the cubes and went to flex stalls. That is where I find my self working in when I go into the office. Nice, obtrusive, open, no wall, and loud stall.
those that are considered "office eligible" speed to the office, run thru the parking lot and building hallway to grab that flex space office so they can flex the only power they have left....while the rest of us sit out in cubies with our headsets on engaged in video calls.

This post is just one of the stages of grief. Since this will never happen, find another job or find a way to deal with it.

Great point, OP. Managers and execs DO NOT need their own offices separating themselves from their employees. It certainly would help our management to be more accountable if they’re in the mix. Keep the private offices, but they should be available to everyone when needed for focused work or meetings.
Closed offices for managers is an old-fashioned display of prestige and superiority. If the execs truly believe in RTO because of the benefits of “a collaborative environment”, then let’s all sit together.

Ha! You just exposed yourself as the deadbeat I already knew you are. I work in St Louis and the building is full of plush corner offices. You must be stuck in some do-nothing job in the basement. Maybe if you weren’t full of such ugliness and hatred, you could move up in the world.

Charlotte
Philadelphia
Minneapolis
Atlanta
Tempe
Do people not talk to each other any more in a civil manner anywhere? If I'm near someone who's louder than whatever level I consider as reasonable I'll be having a conversation with them. Conversations don't have to be Confrontations. The conversation will either result in an amenable solution, some ones relocation or a punch to the face. Be prepared for all three and you've got your bases covered.

Please explain where this situation is because I’ve never seen it. Only cubicles & basic offices here in St. Louis. RTO is here to stay. Accept it or move on & good luck!!
