The UAW voted Gretch into office.

And now this state has fixed the voting districts. We Rs will never be able to win in this state again. Thanks UAW.

I'm moving to Tennessee to work at the new plant there.

@aljd+1lQ2oNZg is exactly right.

It's exactly like our police officers. There are some bad apples. But we have to protect them so that the rest of our officers are protected.

@afsa+1lQ2oNZg still better than getting unceremoniously laid off after 30 years of dedicated service to the company. If job security means a few bad apples get protected as well then so be it.

I'm sorry, but the UAW is less than impressive from my vantage point! They mostly represent BAD employees, saving their jobs, even when they shouldn't, and don't do the right thing for the employee, who pays a fee to be represented by them.
Look at all the fraud that happened within the UAW over the last few years.

I hope the UAW plays hardball and gets everything they can. Sc--w Ford and their current management. It is time to ki-l the snake.

"UAW, Let's Get Ready to Rumble"

From a 20 plus year salary employee who has seen the good and bad aspects of the union, i'd like to sincerely say

"Go kick their a$$es".

If you can find a way to get 70 to 90% of the leadership of this place sh!tcanned in the process, even better.

I hope the UAW contract is the straw they breaks the camel's back and Ford filled for bankruptcy!

I am salary but I am pro union. Look at how salary get cuts. I wish engineers could unionize.

How about the UAW get rid of its dead weight. How about they stop protecting the CR-P workers, too! And get the old-timers who need to retire to RETIRE!
UAW has ALWAYS been protected. Salary workers, working in their own homes had to take FORCED vaccines, but hourly working, working right next to each other didn't! WHO has control? Not Ford!

The company transformation is bleeding red ink. The only thing keeping the company afloat is a few UAW plants. Why wouldn't the UAW bring the company to it's knees? It isn't like previous negotiations, where the UAW might give concessions to protect the long term health of the company and future jobs. The transformation eliminates the need for a large share of production workers. The UAW better get what they can while they can.

Ford leadership has always pretended to be pro union. Let's see what happens when the UAW puts Ford over a barrel. Strike could be coming!

That was a great answer. I really didn't expect to receive one.

I said 'fair' in hopes of not setting off either side of the issue - so that someone might answer.

I have the same question now - what would be fair...

@1zwz+1lQ2oNZg. This forum is primarily anti current company leadership. If the UAW can stick it to them, then the forum is pro UAW. But in general, this forum is anti UAW, because it is mostly about salaried cuts. There is also the issue that UAW members voted for the EV transformation that is leading to elimination of both salaried and UAW jobs. So what would be fair?

I can never tell if this forum is for the UAW or against it....

Whatever the result, I hope that our mfg colleagues get what's fair and earned.

Since the company transition is dependent on UAW made products for a few years, I wouldn't concede anything. The UAW will never have the bargaining leverage they have now again.
