I was hired with the title Executive Director because my uncle is on the BOD.
I have a degree in African American studies from Paul Quinn College in Dallas.
As I was preparing for a Masters degree in communications from DBU I was able to
secure another $15k in salary so Yes - it is possible to ask and receive more money.

Salary negotiation works if you know exactly which “woke” vocabulary to utilize while negotiating. 100% works!!!! Of course your gender, color and ethnicity play a huge part too!!

It works in the first job you accept with the company. After that forget about it!

It’s all based on T modeling. I would encourage you to try, but make sure you have factual reasons that require a higher salary.
If it’s a union position, the best option is to have them start you at 48 months. That’ll put you at the higher pay band.
If you are mgmt, good luck because it would be difficult right now to negotiate with HR.
