Yeah I think this is about disparagement not disclosure. Basically you can talk sh1t about the company after getting let go, especially if it was dysfunctional. Kinda nuts that that’s a thing in severance packages, will be interesting to see if it matters since the NLRB is kinda powerless to do anything substantial
SIRP'd in August. Agreement said it wasn't allowed to disparage the company on social media. This ruling makes that null and void. Gloves are off!
I was laid off in May of 2020 (not from Ford) and had to sign an NDA. In the agreement it said if I break the agreement I could get sued for the monetary amount agreed upon. I told everyone I know......Come and get me U***!
If I remember right, part of what I had to sign was a section that talked about holding the company harmless with regard to age discrimination. I think they are more concerned about getting sued than losing secrets.
Now that I’m gone confidentiality of any kind doesn’t apply to me. I still get call about all the quality issues and poor quality vehicles going out the door.
I was told that there is a stop ship for the F250’s. the rocker arms on in the 7.3L engine are falling apart….again!
Many laid off during the August SIRP were told their job function was no longer required, only to find out they were simply replaced at a later stage. NDA language to prevent leak of company information is fine, but what about unethical behavior? Don't sign = no severance.
I signed the NDA when I was hired. Signed the SIRP when laid off last year. Not disclosing proprietary info is good ethics to me and I'd follow that regardless of what I signed. I'm not understanding the issue, why would someone be bothered about signing NDA to get the SIRP package. Many things in that package bothered me when I was laid off but NDA was not one of them.
You watch..... Some lawyer will come up with a new name called the goodbye fund or the toodle-doo account. To receive these funds you will have to sign an NDA but everybody gets $10 severance whether or not you sign the NDA.
