Aah…that feeling when the Performance Assessment cycle kicks off!

Here we go again! Let the circus begin. Hunger games for the hoi polloi. When will we have a system that is fit for purpose, and serves business needs? It’s a rhetorical question. KO feedback will be asked for, and written till the cows come home. Brain cells will be obliterated in coming up with appropriate action verbs. May be ChatGPT will be helpful this time?
And when it’s all done, we will launch into that other process of overkill, aka Company Plan. As always, it will be obsolete as soon as it is completed (and perhaps earlier, because of all the assumptions). But plan we must, and we will evaluate all scenarios and then some.

Totally clear that GP is growing India hugely, Houston and Europe employees will probably be 10% layoff target for the next 2 years.

Global Projects will continue to be migrated to the Bangaluru office in India in 2023 and 2024. We should expect a larger percentage of NSI's in Houston this year and next.

Agree, the tone in the Global Projects email introducing this year's ranking was completely uninspiring and demoralising. Setting people up to getting screwed.

I feel ‘ya.

Layer-on the people start acting weird, dodgy and/or over protective right before ranking.

That chill manager you used to talk to casually, now seems honed in on your every intonation and detail. Coworkers stop doing base-business to push that one special initiative that they want to highlight for ranking. And you have to always have your best face on for 2-3 months; you don’t get to be human or have a bad day. Just a miserable time of the year.
