Recalls run in the Ford platform family

First the Edge and now:

Ford Motor Company is recalling one Lincoln Nautilus crossover over insufficient welds. The automaker is also recalling 18 2023 Ford Edge models for the same issue.

The defect: in the affected vehicle, the child seat tether wire welds on the second-row left-side seat back frame may be insufficient, which can reduce the seat’s ability to properly restrain a child during a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 225, “Child Restraint Anchorage Systems.”

The hazards: a child that is not properly restrained during a crash can have an increased risk of injury.

Ford is not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries related to this condition.

Components: left-side second-row seat back frame

Just wait until new F150 Lightning comes out, its electric transmission is not robust due to incompetence from P/T Mfg. The legacy of Pete Szspara, tantrum boy.
Also, the new eBeam Axle sourced to Schaffeler is plagued with numerous design issues, Schaeffler was sources because Pat Oldani, former Trans Manager now is the pool boy for Schaeffler.
Until Ford get rids of PTME, all launches will be a failure.

Missed welds in the plant or a design issue? There is a repair standard for missing RSW and that is to drill out the location of the missing/defective weld and puddle weld the hole joining all the sheets together. If not a closed out condition than a RSW g-n if available at the repair facility can be used. There are repair standards for all BIW fasteners.
Interesting to know if this is a plant issue.

That doesn't sound like something you can take to the stealership to fix!
