There were some reductions...not huge numbers, but some folks got the boot. I'm sure more will follow after the upcoming quarterly numbers...which I'm sure are not good. When are people going to realize that VZ's network is NOT what they claim it to be any more, we need to stop riding the coat tails of what was, and accept that we are not the best carrier anymore.

The economy...covid bs and other things in this world are beating up all kinds of big companies...have a bail out plan.

Confirmed. Major layoffs at Tracfone. Not just people but entire departments and business groups. Most with over 20 years with the company.

Was at BR today and was informed that today was the last day for a construction team member and the head of cafe services(? Not sure what the cafe person could possibly be doing since COVID began) But they’re gone today. Nothing major . Just keep over performing

Multiple layoffs in supply chain yesterday. My director had a call with our team this morning to tell us that there had been a RIF impacting our group and that folks who were affected were notified yesterday. I also confirmed with a colleague today that another director in SC did the same, so seems like this was the case across the org. I appreciate that the directors are communicating that directly.

It was a very small RIF

10% of workforce at tracfone laid off today. Mostly employees with 20+ years of service.

My hunch is that they will wait until they share Q1 results on 4/25, at which point they will need to be able to show Wall Street that they are making drastic changes for improvement! That is my bet on when the axe may swing for the broader groups.

OP - have heard there were 55 impacts in the value segment with some of that being in legacy Trac teams.

@fnl+1lTN9C9K how does that make the WARN act worthless ... That's literally people getting paid through the WARN period...

Two quality and immediate managers above me are leaving while on their own volition. Three other peers are leaving as well. All while GTS leadership essentially saying DON'T PANIC so to speak. Feels like the writing is on the wall for many.

WARN act is worthless. Verlieson gets around the WARN act by announcing a layoff with 60 days until off payroll. So nothing shows up on WARN until after the announcement.

layoffs in VBG

WARN Act:

The WARN Act requires employers with 100 or more full-time employees (not counting workers who have fewer than 6 months on the job) to provide at least 60 calendar days advance written notice of:

  1. a worksite closing affecting 50 or more employees, or a mass layoff affecting at least 50 employees and
  2. 1/3 of the worksite’s total workforce or 500 or more employees at the single site of

employment during any 90-day period

The reason for no WARN act -

  1. We didn't close a location (I think)
  2. We don't qualify for #2, at a single site (>500 employees within 90 days). It's across various locations, and kept to hundreds.

@kig+1lTN9C9K Verizon either gives people enough time on payroll before their last day or the layoffs are small enough they don't meet WARN thresholds. They have a team of consultants that ensure this.

Anyone know why Verizon doesn’t file WARN notices? I know there were layoffs in February and in October last year but I can’t find any WARN listings from them for Verizon.

Just heard of big layoffs in conferencing. Not sure if it was Bluejeans or the old teams.

VCG - OP&OO - not hearing anything here. This group had impacts back on 2/16 so I’d like to think it will stay quiet.
