Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

VZ wireless price plans double the competition

Just Retired from VZ on dec 31st with the last round of layoffs. Even with my VZ 25% retiree discount I’m still paying almost twice as much as T-Mobile and Spectrum (which uses the VZ network) plans. I’m sure wireless consumers customers are leaving in droves. Any input is appreciated.

@2iie+1lXfYp16 How do you and many of the others here not realize that the current cost of plans relative to other companies is directly related to LAYOFFS? IF VZ was still competitive (it's not), it would still be leading the signup wars & the company would be looking to downsize at every opportunity because it would still be growing.

Current pricing is resulting in customer loss, which is fueling layoffs.. again.
Adding a surcharge to the old small plans helped move 10's of thousands to T-Mobile.
Hans is the only one that still thinks it moved them to VZ unlimited plans.

Go with Visible, you'll still be using VZW network & paying fixed $30/month for unlimited text & data.

We never competed in price before Hans. We were always the premium service and you get what you pay for. We’ve gone from Nordstrom to TJ Maxx and now customers expect cheap, but since we’ve cut prices we’ve cut staffing and our customer service quite frankly sucks.

Bud, Spectrum mobile uses the Verizon wireless network. The Verizon network is definitely throttled. Quality does not match the pricing.
More lay offs just around the corner but Hans is making his $20 mil annually.

Buddy, if I had a nickel for every call I had about VZ customers having a nightmare at Spectrum, then trying to switch back and having second nightmare getting their transfer PIN, I wouldn’t even need to work for Verizon. If you are going to post about pricing stick to att and tmo. I wouldn’t even say spectrum is a true vz competitor. They are a value competitor If Hans and the C suite could make up their minds between VZ prepay, visible and total we would crush spectrum in the value market too.

Grow up with your constant comments about this being a site for layoffs.
Our egregiously high pricing leads to customers leaving VZ which leads to layoffs.

Relax.

This site is for layoff news not wireless pricing plans.

Seconding the switch to Visible. Issues are few/far between and with a fixed income, that's the route I'd take.

TMobile and our former exec George Fusher (who went to T-Mobile) are enjoying Our demise and decline. Customers are leaving in droves due to being double T mobile.
This means more layoffs and offshoring to India and the Philippines.
Hans is driving this company into the ground.

On slack I see all the conversations from the Visible team about customer issues. We can’t get a product right.

This is a layoff site, we don't care how much your cell bill is.

Visible is great until the network is congested and you get throttled for postpaid customers

I have free Netflix and Apple TV and a 1 year membership in AAA and 5G and Wi-Fi Calling and ScamGuard and a lower monthly bill with TMo.

The extra money allows Verizon to use the money on social justice causes

Spectrum mobile is a no brainer if you can get it. Slash you bill easily over 50% on exactly the same network

Verizon has prepaid visible phone service where you get unlimited everything for $30/month even if you have just one line. There is no reason for anyone to pay more than that. If you have a family plan of four, then VZ's plan comes near $140 and there are other discounts as well if you combine with FiOS.

I’ve had AT&T, T-Mobile and VZW. Even when I was part of the March Rif I was going to keep VZW. I’ve never had issues with calls, texts of data anywhere in the U.S.
Everyone knows that you get what you pay for. You cannot compare a pair of D&G kicks to a pair of Nike. If you want the best stay with the best. You want cheap then deal with the consequences.

If you are retired, why are you still on here? Move on and enjoy life.

My input, stick with Verizon and keep paying those high monthly fees so I can remain employed. Thank you.
