Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Unconcerned about the quality of the employees

I was really disappointed when I became aware of how little BNY Mellon now cares about the quality of its employees. I do not believe that they are not aware that some decisions alienate the best of the remaining employees. On the other hand, I still find it hard to accept that the quality of the employees here now means very little or almost nothing...

They still care about the quality of employees, they just changed what qualities they're looking for. You just need to get a tan, change your pronoun and do the needful.

What else would you be expecting from the Pittsburgh T.S. sweatshop?

"beginning -of-career" talent, and working with college recruitment” is, In other words, "cheap" hires. The only guarantee that you get is a lot of work and an opportunity to stand out.

That’s actually refreshing in that it is back to normalcy and competition.

Last year in TS we were told that TS would be focused on hiring "beginning -of-career" talent, and working with college recruitment. In other words, "cheap" hires. So who was going to train all these kids? Well the remaining overworked experienced staff who managed to not be laid off, thats who. However these new hires barely stay around more than 2 years, so its "lather-rinse-repeat".
