Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Any other Sh*t companies like Honeywell or is Honeywell bottom of the barrel?

Is this company the greediest and most toxic you ever worked at?

Honeywell is without a doubt the worst

Honeywell does nothing to get buy in from band 4 and below. By that I mean no discounted stock purchase price, no stock awards, nothing that rewards an employee for sticking around and toughing it out. Many other employer's of technical people do such things and their employees are very loyal. It's not until one gets to a band 5 level that they provide such things, or so I am lead to believe. It seems that with Honeywell, it is best to gain the experience and then parlay that into a better position at a better company. This company is doomed without being able to grow younger talent.

Job shop by looking at the various companies here at layoff. Honeywell is at the bottom. They have more ticked off, stressed out employees turning increasingly bitter than other aero companies. Top down, no one knows what they are supposed to do, or where the Titanic is trying to get to.

If you're hard up for work and there's an open position, it's fine for the short term. Let Honeywell train you and get some experience but do NOT consider Honeywell for a long term situation. Even if you think you'd like to stay long term, the leadership team has other plans and you are far more likely to get RIFd before you're ready to leave. Your best bet is to have one foot out the door at all times, keep options open at all times and don't stick around for longer than you have to. Basically, you want to use and lose Honeywell.

Most toxic company I have ever worked for. Glad that I joined Siemens last year. Better management, products and pay.

They seem to attract very nasty people, treacherous boot lacquers and backstabbers.

Ah come on man you all dont like the new IDPs they want us to do on top of unsustainable goals. Also need get so many RPSs and CIs in and do your BSS per quarter. Ah and another new thing the Haz hunts find something say something write out a forum for it and also turn it into a Near miss um isn't that same thing who is coming up with these things?? Then top it of the dog and pony show COS board best make sure its all checked green. They all worried about all this instead of our normal jobs. So much to say. As one workers would say in fwad dhead my pronoun for that day.

Honeywell used.to be the typical corporate American company. Hiding how they exploit the workers, secretly take from them and give it to the leadership, etc. But now, Honeywell is out and in the open about it. Brazenly telling you to your face you are sc-m and that you are just lucky they allow you to work here, taking benefits and perks is a quarterly/yearly game enjoyed by the ALT all while trying to gaslight you that everything is fine and if you have a problem with how they treat you, them it's YOU who has the problem. They blame all of the problems on the employees with regard to delivery and site performance and the leaders never, ever admit fault; they are perfect in every way and again, YOU are the problem.

If you enjoy being treated like a common serf who's efforts are not rewarded or accepted but gratitude, but rather expected and then the spoils of your hard work given to your boss and everyone above them and you don't mind being gaslighted at every turn, then come on down and apply at Honeywell! We've got plenty of open desks for you in the vast India call center style work areas where employees are free to sit at a different terminal each day, sharing ideas and germs amongst each other; it's great.

To find HON, the barrel should have no bottom, there needs to be a hole in the barrel leading straight to he**, that's where you'll find HON

Never worked in such a horrible toxic environment. Threatened with layoffs and used as a vent for management stress. Hate it but haven’t been able to get employment elsewhere. Maybe having Honeywell on your resume is a detriment. I will keep trying to get out before they layoff again.

Before joining Honeywell I worked across the world as a consultant for many medium to large corporations. Trust me, I have seen it all.
When I joined Honeywell 7 years ago it was not great but also not terrible, typical corporate fair just somewhat behind the times.
HOWEVER, what I have witnessed and experienced in the last few years has shocked me on every level, just disgusting, I can not find the right words to describe Honeywell!
An absolute parasite of a company. I left a year ago and feel desperately sorry for those still trapped there.

It is BY FAR the worst place I’ve ever worked. The most toxic place I’ve ever been. Incompetence is rewarded regularly. Competence is driven out. Benefits are routinely cut. There’s a lot of power tripping managers running around in most departments. I’ve been here a long time, it’s only gotten worse in my time. I’m finally to the point where I’m done. Activity working to get out as soon as possible because I realize it will NEVER get better here.

As a whole, I’ve seen worse. Unfortunately most companies are toxic in one way or another, it’s a matter of finding the one that is tolerable for you.

The only part of @1xjq+1lYKHUU7's post I quibble with is the alternate spelling of McKinsey :). This excellent summary of toxic company identification should be sent to everybody who is job hunting (it will help them)!!! Thank you.

There are many others to be avoided. Make sure you talk to people working there before you join any company. Many companies salt the major review sites like Glassdoor with fraudulent glowing reviews. You need to have boots on the ground who can give you the inside scoop, not the B.S of a recruiter or HR stiff.

Identifying toxic companies is pretty simple.

  1. Does any corporate officer or their spouse/partner have GE on their resume.. anywhere.
  2. Does any corporate officer, their spouse/partner, or children have McKenzie on their resume.
  3. Is the company headquartered in a country other than your native country.
  4. Has the word six sigma ever been mentioned in any corporate business filing or in a promotional media release.

There are others but this is a decent start. Almost no major US corporation gets past number 1.

I also want to know the answer to this so I can hopefully tell myself that this is not the norm. I feel sick to my stomach going to work every day. Can’t wait for another round of useless VOE survey.
