Design Operations

thanks for the depressing pep talk today. your encouragement and intimidation tactics only ensure I'm making the right decision to leave. also no one cares. design tea is a time suck and operations is a pain in the a-s.

My favorite part was when Claudia talked about soccer for 8 minutes and ended her piece with the workplace equivalent of "I'll fight anyone who disagrees".

he writes articles, he fires people, hes like the cool dad who tries too hard. hes just a talking head who implements new processes every other day and asks for us designers to jump through hoops. we just want to design but were just buried in red tape.

I have heard from several sources just how inept and obnoxious the head of design is. Is this true? Can anyone give any examples?

@sav+1lZdG8Hc - I wouldn't say they've done nothing. They've collected money for doing nothing. That's something.

every week is a new process, people are jumping ship and when will coach Al return?

when do we get to work. seems like all we do is give status updates.

i just want to design and every design leader is just trying to make a name for themselves. i dont know maybe charlie can write another article.

all design execs have done nothing.

I’m making the same decision. I was sticking around to watch the ship sink. It’s a big ship and frankly I just don’t care enough anymore to watch it. It’s been a ride.

I certainly feel like slamming my head against the wall when the same ideas/products/processes are tried, changed, regurgitated with the same results too many times to count.

There is no vision at the company at all. If you are apart of another company you will clearly see just how much it’s missing here.

If you ask your managers and their managers what their vision and strategy to achieve their targets are, they will not have any thing of substance to respond with. Careful though, asking these types of questions have been met with reprimand.

As we can see the only way to grow is to squeeze existing clients or sell off parts of the business.

As long as the stock price is going up the ELT is happy.
