This Solidigm leadership team looks all talk and no substance.
How deaf tone do they have to be to announce Global HQ fews days after saying they will announce layoffs in March.

End of Nand TD/Solidigm future... Hynix decision. Will finish out the current tech and then likely move NAND over to their tech [speculation]. All Intel/Solidigm NAND TD folks will need to find another job. Maybe this is why Rob Crooke left. Best of luck to all those impacted, and condolences, it sucks when competitive and successful tech initiatives are ki-led(Solidigm was showing working PLC and has the most capable QLC tech).

In hindsight guess Hynix was truly only interested in getting a NAND fab for cheap as well as establishing themselves in the server/database market by taking over Intel's sizable presence in that higher margin market.

Memory is a tough low margin market, and Hynix weathers these events infinitely better than Intel which is crying about 36% margins, Memory would love to have that cushion...

The business is largely protected by pre-existing contracts that have been paid for. Limited to no impact to current employees through 2025. As for the business outlook, technologically it is rather bright with a great differentiated strategy compared to competition [Micron, Samsung, WD, Kioxia, and even Hynix]. The only uncertainty I see comes in the form of US sanctions to China which could prevent future technologies from starting up in China. US foreign policy is quite cyclical though, all could change 2024 with next election.

Given there wasn’t an option to even ask questions in the forum, hard to believe it’s going to be any good.

Not good. Hynix DRAM cash is running out. Sad end to a great team.
