Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Hiring freeze?

If this is an accurate rumor, any ideas if they will still allow LR impacted people to apply to positions?

There's been a refridgeration since the LR - for months now - with high degree of scrutiny on all roles opened or offered. Not technically a freeze, but I heard SVP approval of every offer and req.

The fact is that Cisco basically doesn't like people joining from other tech companies.

WRONG. Most of the management above me are hire-ins. Many of them were in Cisco in a previous life, and bounced out to a competitor and back, gaining 2-3 grades in the process.
Meanwhile, the loyal ones who stayed are still in their old jobs, waiting 7-10 years for promotion because they “aren’t quite ready for the next step”.

Lots of internal moves internal hiring going on.

The fact is that Cisco basically doesn't like people joining from other tech companies. The company loves people who stay at Cisco for longer years and decades. No wonder it gets more and more toxic and political, getting lower and lower a level, full of the valueless in 40's and 50's with no skill, no expert.
