Is a layoff still possible if our common review is scheduled on the calendar?
Just wondering what other peoples’ experiences were

I call BS on this one! The supervisor or manager rank all the employees they like and rank those they don't like personally really low. So if they think you can sue them they lay you off BUT if not then they terminate you. I'm just waiting for this company to be on "American Greed"
If a VP needs to lay you off in order to make the number they need to capture a bigger bonus you will be shown the door.
@3lpb+1lcr5qeS- why not cut the top tier execs bonuses to offset the “cost of doing business overhead”? Do they need $Millions to live or just greed?
Layoffs happen when the different businesses need to cut expenses so their IOI is hitting the numbers it needs to in order to be profitable. No one is trying to lay people off; but if products lose profitability or a business loses a contract or members, expenses have to be cut. The company isn't doing it to be mean. They have to make hard choices to ensure the company remains viable.
Yes, the decisions to layoff employees does not reside with their supervisor. They are often unaware until the last moment. ...budget cuts come from finance and VPs
Obviously. HAHAHA.
Absolutely possible. They don’t even tell the direct supervisor until right before the lay off meeting is scheduled
Still possible. Typically the supervisors won’t know of the layoff until an hour before the employee.
