…rewarding these employees for helping to accelerate the transformation, …

What transformation? During and just after COVID isolation demand for technologies for working from home increased and inflation meant higher revenues for the same level of products and services. Government and monetary policy are now actively working against these manifestations which means demand will likely slow and companies are reducing long term liabilities expecting that slower demand to occur.

Add in the fact that manufacturers are still heavily backlogged and as they dig out of that backlog supply can increase and you have a classic high school economics class quiz question which many people earning six digits at Cisco clearly can’t answer correctly.

With great earnings, less people in groups, more work, and high inflation - I wonder if there is going another equity cycle? Some talented folks may be looking for the door if inflation continues and wages stagnate at Cisco.

Lawsuits for what? For not liking the rules of unbridled capitalism? For not agreeing with the cynicism of the ELT?

I don't get it. Cisco had two record quarters in a row, increased dividends, and are laying off! This is unlike anything we've ever seen in the industry and it is unreal the news isn't talking about this. This is either a trailblazing new corporate leadership best practice that is rewarding these employees for helping to accelerate the transformation, or Cisco is totally blowing it using old tool for the wrong situation and time, screwing these employees, and we'll see a train wreck (many lawsuits) coming down the tracks.
