Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

If you’re still employed by T after today..

Understand that your workload will not be light. You will have to take on the roles of those surplused, without the pay. I hope you are ready.

He-l no. It's easier to quiet quit if you have no ties to your boss.

Another one bites the dust. Taxes and layoffs… bye bye bye.. they don’t care.. and the transformation, not really.. and all the dinosaurs wired to the desks go and above just get another title or shuffle out to be head of an sp and then get more residuals reselling the stuff the remaining peeps need to sell

Keep grinding, befriend your boss if possible, otherwise be a go to person on your team with a positive attitude, and diligently work to keep your boss out any negative situations, regardless of workload. That's been my stratagem through all the layoffs and I'm still here. Don't let the layoff dread affect you or it sends you into a negative place. That's a slippery slope. If you can manage a team or engineer at the phone company, you can do it at another company, so stay positive

I'm union. People left before the new interest rates kicked in and now the remaining are picking up the work. The OT is great. My nickname will be The Milkman. I'm gonna get mine.

Don't overdramatize. You ain't working hard at all. And you still won't after workforce adjustment. A telecommunication company does not need that many workers.

“I'm not impacted, directly or indirectly, by any layoffs. I don't know what the op is talking about” - That means you’re next, because it must mean your team doesn’t contribute much value or has deadweight. Congrats.

You’re safe for 89 more days until next, regularly scheduled surplus.

Nobody in my entire group or my sister groups was laid off today. So I guess Tuesday will be business as usual.

My workload has been overwhelming for seven years. Glad others will start to get to enjoy it too.
I heard they were going to make all mgrs exempt to help cover the work from layoffs.

You sound angry. Been through this many times already. You can do what you can do, and that's it.

Only 40 hours in a week. That’s what I am paid for so that is what they get.

One good thing about being an hourly manager. Can only work OT if approved by the AM.
