Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Are we safe?

If you have heard nothing by now and don't have a meeting invite (for just yourself), you're probably OK for now.

Is this true? I'd love to be able to relax for the rest of the day but something tells me this sounds a bit too good to be true. If somebody know for sure, please let us know.

"The unaffected ones slacking today will be the next ones picked on the next go around. "

... says the guy spending hours on this site making pro-Stink comments on every post.

Safe is a relative term at T. You may not have been cut this time, but nobody there is ever safe -- unless you happen to be Stink or the senior execs.

"No one is safe." Always waiting for the next round.

Yup, looks like all that were going to be let go have been notified as they do it very early in the morning then schedule the company wide calls to the current round of survivors. If you manager has organizaed a team call for today and you are on that list you are good.
