Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

I don't know why "everyone"' here complains and doesn't report it.

Individually? I understand, but as a collective, you would have an impact. Ironically, Just Do It!".

Employee Relations (ER) is supposed to be on the employee's side. Heck, it's in their name. But at Nike, they are seemingly driven by employment lawyers and job 1 is to ensure Nike doesn't get sued. Sadly, when you naively go to ER for help because your supervisor is doing something horrible or because someone has CLEARLY violated code of conduct, AT MOST they move the problem and the offender's toxicity around.
Is the big boss screwing his secretary? Move the secretary, promote the big boss.
Have you been treated HORRIBLY and been discriminated by a certain senior IT executive?
NOTHING.
Have lots of other people complained about said senior IT executive?
NOTHING.
Are they violating company policy by hiring with a cultural bias, consistently?
NOTHING.

It takes complaints on an epic scale, or more likely for that senior exec finally being stupid enough to do something legally actionable, for something to change.
The unfortunate thought processes pervading senior leadership and ER does not result in employee health nor in a healthier organization, it allows bad behavior to be protected and continue. There is only transparency when it suits their needs. Appearances are more important than truth, fact, and a healthy workforce.

They did more than just 'vent to each other on slack' - they posted photos of female employees and then rated their appearance / made s*xually suggestive comments, made racist comments about other employees, and also made other completely inappropriate / nasty / immature comments. The slack channel was able to be viewed by other employees (any may still be available)

I actually have dealt with HR. I’ve never had an issue, as I don’t treat them like the enemy. My point was to report it to the anonymous site. I’m sorry to hear about the APLA employees.

You mean complain about it with people other than your managers? You just need to look at the 4 people in APLA who were all just fired for venting to each other on slack (ok, yes, shouldn’t have used company tech to do it). APLA leadership got wind of it and thy were all fired. So… I don’t think any sort of collective is going to have an impact. People now 100% only talk on the phone if they want to say anything that is less than positive about leadership. The culture is now just a paranoid one.
