Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Are people really thinking Pat is the second coming of Andy Grove?

So many comments on circuit mention that!! Not sure what they are smoking

Let's be realistic. If Andy comes back, 60% of you would not have a job.

I would give Pat the benefit of the doubt.

Andy didn't suffer fools. His propaganda was "intel--ligence", not DEI. Now let's see if Pat can do that, like immediately.

Andy gutted the soil of all leaders. Like Jack he created a Hunger Games environment that gave us most of our past weak leaders and they created little microcosm kingdoms in their liking.

It will take decades to unwind, could be faster. Pat was a leader who had both internal and external credibility but sadly he has take a path to both Intel and personal self destruction

Everyone is so hungry for real leadership that they will put all their hopes into a slick salesman. Pat's religious bent doesn't help matters any as he is probably eating it up.

Sycophants are rampant at Intel.

It pays to be a ‘yes’ man.
There is no room for any critical thinking.

not sure he's the 'second coming of AG', but at least he's not going to be a reincarnation of the disasters that BK and BS were.

The narrative of Pat being the second coming of Andy is a carefully crafted marketing to try and boost confidence in the CEO of a company that has frankly been leaderless since CRB and now executing what is really a flawed terrible low recovery plan.

The hope is governments, investors, customers, and employees can suspend common sense and buy in, the messiah has come.

Many of the more balanced analysis can rationalize why this is the only possible strategy. The one notable thing nobody talks objectively about is the probability of success if they consider the competition executing, as if they do it likely hood of it working is very low to zero.

So pump the Andy 2nd coming and pray TSMC will pull an LTD like totally failure, or maybe AMD and Nvidia completely blow their next generation design and do an Intel Prescott / Tejas / Itanium / Larrabee. Or maybe China invades Taiwan and plunges the world to the dark ages with only Intel x86.

I’ve looked up some of these people. They are HR in many cases.
