Demotion to another team for same pay

Can I go from a p5 to p3(different LOB) for same pay( still within p3 range). Stay there for a year and jump to p4 for a 20% bump? I know it's gaming the system, but hey , at WF don't you have to look out for yourself?

Whoever said HR doesn’t allow title downgrades has no idea what they’re talking about. Best example is going from CIB MO to CIB FO. It happens all the time.

Too funny. I bet you are the first person to think of that and HR will have no idea.

I know someone who stepped back about two levels. Given this was in 2020, and I don’t know what happened to their pay, but I’m pretty sure it was intentional, and it was definitely allowed by HR. The person said they wanted a slower pace the last 10 years before retirement to have more time to focus on their family and personal interests. That may have been true, but I’m pretty certain they also figured out they were going to be in the hot seat, very hot seat, with the regulators and got out of that higher position before that happened.

No. It is prohibited by HR to move down a grade internally. You can only move laterally. You would have to quit & apply for a new job. Probably for this exact reason.
