Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

What is an exec

I’ve heard a lot of things about people being made exec etc. aside from being above CL30, what does it actually mean?

Explains why Uncon leadership doesn’t think silly choices are being made to hit CAPEX and OPEX targets. There’s nothing silly about getting their bonuses into their bank accounts!

At CL 30 RSU and EBU represent less than 25% of compensation.

There is a step change in compensation (mainly through bonus/incentive program) though assessment groups get even more competitive/cut throat.

You can read the executive compensation section in the 2022 shareholder proxy materials. The program is same for all execs though of course the specific numbers are much lower for regular executives than the named Corporate executives in the proxy.

Your stock and EBU is higher than your salary

The comp structure for execs changes. You get higher and higher numbers of shares based on CL and where you’re ranked. There are also 2 types of bonuses - EBUs and cash bonuses that are based largely on company performance goals. They got rid of cash bonuses in 2020 for execs (but did a terrible job of advertising that)
