Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

It hurts

Honestly, since the news, the morale has been very low.

On one side I feel that there is still bloat and we get more efficient, on the other hand feel sad just disappointed on what has happened to a storied franchise. What did all the leaders in last decade do to once an iconic company. All those leaders who got 10's or 100's of million as total comp in last decade should return the money.

I never gave up on the company. Just hurts to see this happen to an iconic company. Feel a lot of anger. Anger on the lot of the people who did have the position to have a meaningful impact and clearly they didnt make the right decisions and failed. It takes a lot of bad decisions to take a company flush with cash and technology leadership, to lose both so quickly.

The company could not come back from delays like these and from poor management: https://hexus.net/business/news/corporate/144409-intels-chief-engineering-officer-departs-reshuffle/

'It hurts..'

What does emotion half to do with it?

Companies come and go. Strategies succeed and fail.

Suck it up snowflake, your happiness in life = outcome minus expectations and clearly, your expectations are kinda fubar as compared to reality.

That very well may be. But also: Jalen Hurts.

That doesn’t much matter now, unless we can somehow line them up in a row and let everyone who’s had a WWID get one swift kick on each of them to the fleshy patch where a man bag should be.

Money hides a lot of sins.

One of the root issues with corporations is the incestuous boards who agree to these ridiculous pay packages for execs that are based on short term / 1 year stock price and other metrics. I wish PG's $180M package was paid out based on performance over a 5 to 10 year period instead of yearly.

As one of other posters said, Intel of the last 35 years is built on a monopoly position. The culture change and contractions to become more competitive are going to be painful if not impossible. Very few companies in history have been able to pull this off.

Companies come and go all the time. Best not to get emotional about these things. Emotions just cloud your judgment and you make bad decisions. Time to move on.

The Monopoly money hose hides a lot of bad management and incompetence.

One the money hose runs dry, you see things for how they really are.

Poor leadership whose daily bread was to prioritize themselves and their personal incentives alright in the millions of dollars rather than steering the company in the right direction as the incoming squeeze had been obvious for some time for those who have half a pulse and there were some what a joke of monumental f-ups
