Rto is the only way to stop the leaking of talent and accountability. Check your slack. The average person is on maybe 4 hours and how much of that is actual work vs YouTube or second and third jobs or mba homework. Verizon is currently a joke and continues to get worse by the day.

I'm sure other companies will be dying to hire all you pajama techs at $40 an hour plus benefits to answer the phone.

If this is true, I would love to see the research and statistics, in addition to the employee surveys, that support the WHY. Every single person in my organization has said how much more productive they are with the remote work model. I personally, get so much more work done from home. I work far longer hours and I don’t mind it because the stress of the commute and constant interruption from the office is removed. I am not only a better employee but a better person in general because I now have a healthier work life balance. Don’t strip me away from that. On the days that I do go into the office, I get absolutely nothing done. It’s chaos. How about senior leadership actually ask the people that sacrifice everything for this company how they feel about these changes before they actually make them instead of making life-altering changes based on one or two personal opinions that impact thousands.

Let's be honest, VZ is a train wreck at this point, maybe the change will help. Because right now, the company is pretty much trash.

I'm in 6x per month (Tues - Thurs) 2nd and 4th week of the month
really 30% RTO / 70% home is almost ideal for me and I actually walk MORE at work than at home.
I have a friend who is a director and she was saying that changes were coming - not like you're gonna be in all the time , but a reasonable %

We have been coming in 2x a week. I really like the 2/3 hybrid split.

I’ve talked to some people in VBG product and pricing teams. They are fully remote, but were told they have to come in 2x a week now.

How is 4 days going to work with the people say in network that are home based. Make them drive to nearest location or have them move or quit. 4 days a week will never happen.

We have been doing 2 days a week since last year. You whiners are complaining about RTO 1 day a week beginning in April 2023? Hate to burst your bubble but 4 days a week is coming.

RTO is a joke. The only people that want to go back are the a-s kissers. I can see some departments that need to go back but most don’t. They can ask me all the want. I’m 5 years out from retirement, fire me for not coming in. Lawyers love age discrimination suits. And verizon pays because they don’t want the bad press.

Should be 5 days a week. You kids need to be watched

This is a management “like to have”. Nobody is getting RIF or fired for not being in an office. This same sideshow happened 10 years ago and the badge police ran reports that went nowhere and to make it even more laughable, people who played by the rules were riffed or rebadged later while habitual offenders became managers and higher.

VBG Ops here. We have been RTO one day per week for awhile now. I doubt 100pct RTO like pre pandemic will happen. There are teams across the country now. Also, there isn’t enough cubes and desks with real estate reductions.

On the positive side...no more calls, work, emails check, etc before 9, during lunch and after shift ends...there is always a cause and effect

Suggestion all those that don't want to RTO, next time there is a PULSE survey and God knows we have one every quarter 4 times a year, submit those concerns. I agree RTO will hurt morale over all

Wondering what is the RTO plan for folks not near a verizon hub? RIF? Pay to relocate? Are we bringing back all the reps to the call center so they cannot longer do second jobs while taking calls? What about SPC Ops which is a 100% WFH org?

I’m in another location from everyone I work with and feel they will force me to RTO. They track badge ins so they’ll know if I go or not and they don’t really care if people are more productive they just need to help those whiners who need to see people in the sest to believe work is happening.

I definately feel I’ll be so much more productive on my laptop with laptop keyboard and tiny screen at the shelf of a desk in the office compared to my full size keyboard, large dual 4k monitors at a real desk in my home office. /s One thing I will certainly be productive is not working any unpaid overtime and hitting my commute on time.

Certainly cheaper to get people to quit with WFH than pay severance. Wonder if they’ll push groups hard in the office that they want to shed.

It’s pretty much unenforceable and much ado about nothing. It will fade as it always does especially after the next rif/reorg. We have been through this same show for 20+ years. It’s like a light switch.

Hans wants people in the office because it’s more productive. Wtf does he do when he’s in the office. Play tummy sticks with Andy???

Expect a exodus if they go back to in person. There are so many better companies and jobs that don't require that. Likely what they want. Everyone to leave on their own.

I just heard the same thing from my manager yesterday. They are expecting us to RTO one day a week to get us back into coming in and I work out of Basking Ridge. Heard the same reason, Hans wants more productivity from us and he claims he sees more work being done when people are in the office. We were also told to expect that they will be ramping up to two days a week by summer.

In a staff mtg the first week of feb, the manager said 1 day a week wasn’t required, but highly recommended. And implied the director was coming in 1 day a week, and it would look better if we did too. This was in Basking Ridge. That’s just playing games, either make it mandatory or not, and don’t penalize people for not doing something that’s not mandatory

RTO is the best thing to keep this business afloat. When you were hired you knew you had to work in an office, why is it a problem now? Quit if you have to and good luck finding a job like the one you have now. Otherwise all the calls will go overseas. Amazon just bought their workers back to the offices. Be grateful you stayed home as long as you did. Now RTO.

We got a read out of 1 day a week starting in April, it is not made up and it trickled down from the VP. Hans is looking for everyone to return to office because he believes productivity will be better than WFH. The OP is definitely not making it up.

This is bs. Stop spreading garbage. Our svp in gnt said it’s BAU. If you want to come in come in. Studies were done with some companies RTO productive was down. But he. 3 and 4 days a week, a lot will quit.

Verizon is the worst company to work for and do business with. Everyone at the company are working towards a severance NOT retirement. Get the F out and find a better job before they decide NOT to give severance money any longer. The company is in a free fall since Hans took over.
