Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

Do more for less and just be motivated by the fact that you have a job.

The arrogance, the hypocrisy and the disconnect is baffling. What is TR without its knowledgeable front line people. We still have a lot of leaders who are being carried by those who actually do the work. Imagine if all the real workers left - it will be a company full of people who just spout out words, tick boxes, tell others what to do and actually do nothing themselves because they do not have the expertise.

Surely, the end times are near for these current leaders.

So…..all you real workers SHOULD just leave. It’s normal on the other side. So, so glad I’m gone.

@2bvk+1lhMtChd KR gets double but the money comes out of the employees, not the ELT and so long as the T Fam sees money, they have no reason to care. I left. No place is perfect, but there are a lot of places significantly better than the decay at TR.

Oh god TR sucks. I don't mean the hard workers who deserve transparency, better pay, and better accountability! By TR I mean the bad execs and backstabbing micromanaging invisible ladderclimbing sycophants who'd throw their teammates under the bus in their quest to follow poor representations of leadership. No one can vent to each other openly without fear of being outed or laid off next, so we can only talk here. It's sad how TR fosters such a toxic system. S dear god H are you listening? It's me, and I'm Fed Up.

It's an open secret that KR demanded a 100% increase in comp or she'd walk back in early 2022. SH approved.

They're looting the company and f@cking the employees.

Sorry to say, but that’s why the phrase “golden parachute” was created. Leadership will take their packages after squeezing profit for the short-term, and their friends will help them get new C suite jobs. So depressing.

All the change program money wen't to consultants and contractors who were mostly useless. Someone in ELT f'd up with an acquisition that effectively ki-led the change program because it ended up costing way more than originally budgeted. Instead of taking that money from the coffers for stock by backs in order to offset that, they cut back on all the change program spending and called it done. Then they trimmed more people to meet targets so the stock would continue to go up. Companies laying off people who have literally billions on hand for stock buy backs should require that leaders step down.

TR tries to think long term, but the ELT has severe ADHD with running long-term projects. Stock prices and profit per employee are the only numbers that matter in business anymore.

@pcz+1lhMtChd the only one who saw money from the change program is KR.
Not a surprise...look what happened to her last employer.
