Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Well over 900 jobs

Careers.Ford.com has well over 900 jobs posted. All over the globe. However we are told Ford is carrying 25% more engineering jobs / overhead as our competitors for the same work. So having this prominently in the news, who would wish to interview with a company who needs to shed 25% of core function jobs (engineering)…. The concern is that What is forecasted is chaos and turbulence and this does nothing to attract top talent.

Let's be real here everybody

The people running this company don't know their a$$ from a hole in the ground

Anybody who made it past the cuts in the second half of 2022 sees it

Yes the workload has been steady and you are being told that your management will prioritize the work for you

But if you don't think they're going to be ramping up and expecting all of you who remain, or the counterparts in India or Mexico to pick up the slack, you are nuts

My ll6 thinks employees are interchangeable parts like pieces on a checkerboard, they have no concept of people who can use their knowledge and experience to get the job done. They think they can just plug anybody into the roll as long as you have a run book

I've been around this company for 20 plus years and this is without a doubt the worst I've ever seen the direction of the future

And yes you can all say I'm just an old head who is past their prime and needs to get out to make 'way for the future' .....believe me I was there 20 plus years ago saying the same things about those old timers in front of me.

Simple fact of the matter is our leadership does not know what they are doing

God bless everybody out there hopefully we get somebody in to this company who knows how to get us on the right track.

It's the same tired old Jack Welch firing and hiring nonsense.

Spot on, mate. And yet we still aren't competitive.

Ford should stop listening to consulting groups.

Pure evil the direction the Ford Foundation has taken ford. Ford will loose market share even more than they have already. Partnering with a chinese battery company should be treason.

Sadly the commentary from Ford management regarding their teams capabilities,, work ethic, and results tarnishes them in the open market.

While the focus should be on failed leadership, many current and future employees severed by Ford will suffer.

And then?

Not even three months after I was SIRP’ed March of last year, I saw postings in LN for a job that sounded a lot like mine..plus got calls at least once a month from consulting agencies on Ford jobs.

It is nothing new; they fire from one end and hire from the other (cheaper) end all the time….so likely 50% of announced cuts are fake as those people are replaced. Just with cheaper folks.

And life goes on at Ford…
