Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

Another team learning what we do?

Recently learned that a peer of mine was asked by our manager to train another team on what our team does.

Is it crazy to think this is a lay off red flag?

Is the person you're training from Accenture or WiPro, if yes, then layoff is coming.

It sounds like cross training? Isn’t it?

@3lsm+1lib4lBr- totally agreed on not pursuing quiet quitting. Ultimately, the "quiet quitting" huring the staffs who already suffered from the toxic environment. It will further justify for the top to "outsourced/offshored". This translates into more bottom line gain and the top will get rewarded for more bonuses/stock options.
Lastly, not the least your own skills become "staled" and "not marketable". Just as you think you can hold the company "hostage" to "right" the situation. This is never going to be a "win" at the end...strengthen your skills do the right thing ...move on..never give up!

You are describing most managers I have had, get paid more than me, have me show them how to do stuff,. Did you apply for the job your new coworker was hired for, or were you not long enough in your current position to be eligible? I have never cared how much anyone else makes at a job, that is out of my control. I only care about my own pay. I would not do quiet quiting because I would just quit and find another Job where I am valued more. Maybe you are not able to quit due to some circumstance, that sounds horrible.

My boss hired someone who had NO experience in a specific skill, paid them a higher grade then me then I was asked to train them. I refused..... got paid for a full year of quite quitting! SNAFU
