Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Job posted for the same position

According to what people write here, it seems that it is not at all unusual to be laid off because "your position is no longer needed", and not long after there is a job posting for the same position?

If you suspect you were laid off and your old job was replaced by a foreign H-1B worker at a lower wage, that may be H-1B abuse. Check the H-1B salary database (https://h1bdata.info/index.php?em=ford+motor+company&job=&city=&year=2022]) for your previous role and file a complaint if you suspect abuse (https://www.uscis.gov/scams-fraud-and-misconduct/report-fraud/combating-fraud-and-abuse-in-the-h-1b-visa-program).

“Examples of H-1B fraud indicators may include:

The H-1B worker is not or will not be paid the wage certified on the Labor Condition Application (LCA).
There is a wage disparity between H-1B workers and other workers performing the same or similar duties, particularly to the detriment of U.S. workers.
The H-1B worker is not performing the duties specified in the H-1B petition, including when the duties are at a higher level than the position description.
The H-1B worker has less experience than U.S. workers in similar positions in the same company.
The H-1B worker is not working in the intended location as certified on the LCA.”

They are to cover for Ford immigration Fraud in H1. The Dept. of Home Land Security is not doing their job, they failing us and it has consequences.

Job postings are not for Ford internal candidates. Farley said they lack the "right" type of talent and skill sets. They want people from outside Ford, and preferably the auto industry. The way they write the job description makes it almost exclusionary, its done that way for a reason IMO.

SIRP'd in August. Almost immediately job postings came up that I was qualified for.

Previous posters are right, this is all a scam to justify outsourcing and/or insourcing. Ford has been playing these games for years.

The Ford Job postings are fake, I have applied for many jobs that I do qualify for and never got an interview. The main purpose of job posting is to get H1 applicants. This shows the failure of DHS in enforcing immigration laws and stop fraud.

A number of these postings are done to demonstrate the job cannot be filled in the US so that it can be filled with a 'low cost sourcing' resource. Yes, you may have been removed from that job and there might be many others in the US that can backfilled it, but that won't happen.

If this is how an ethical company operates, I'd hate to be working for an unethical company.

Sadly, Ford, a once prestigious company to work for, is falling apart fast.

Make no mistake, the majority of SIRPs targets are older, pensioned employees. To avoid previous age discrimination lawsuits, younger employees were included in the last SIRP. Farley is desperate to cut costs. Lawler is visibly jittery aware it's biting Ford in the a$$. Employee morale is low, the best talent will never consider Ford and the fakes continue to destroy what was a good company.
Prepare for the PEPs, they're coming. Nepotism is the norm at Ford. The result are inferior products and continued degradation. Don't be fooled by the Ford + B$, Doug and Alan continue to fail at delivering EVs. FLV and Ford Next continue to drain the company of $$$$$ with nothing to show and epic FAILS, like Canopy. Wall Street made it clear to BF, terminate Farley. Hopefully, he will take note.

I was SIRP'd from Model e in August. Within one week, my exact jinks description was posted internally and externally.

I had glowing performance evals. Seeing the job posting so soon afterward just confirmed in my mind that this about my salary and retirement...

I'm venting haha. But yes, it is fairly common to see you job posted after being let go. I actually copied much of the description for my own resume lol.

My job was reposted two days ago as a remote position. Go figure.

It happened before, during Smart Redesign; they'd lay off people & replace them with someone at lower paygrade (e.g., LL3 replaced with LL4, LL4 replaced by LL5, and so on). I wouldn't be surprised if they lay off an older GSR, and replace them with a new younger peon.

Yes. But the job posting is for Mexico or Brazil.

Ford+ plan in action!
