Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Grounds for filing harassment complaint?

Advice needed: Long before the RAT this group I’m in has been operating under command and control mode. It’s been a year and the leadership of the dotted matrix team I was put into due to recent reorg is passive aggressively sabotaging me and my accountabilities. There is proof and back up from some team members. I’m a minority. Is this enough grounds for filing harassment or some sort of official disciplinary action via HR? I’m pursuing it via my leadership but I’m not sure what else I can do.

Don’t do it.. you go to Hr they will place a monkey on your back and you will get fired
My advice to you is to look for another job and bail out..always have in mind Nije is near grainier and there is no loyalty there
I left Nije many years ago and started my shoe brand and from day one I stated to my workers we will NOT be like Nike we will be better and open to each other’s views

Am sorry you are facing same thing. In my case it’s a case of some interesting timing and someone on that team speaking up. I combed through Nike’s Code of Conduct and Maxims, and associated behaviors that allegedly Nike expects employees to operate by. FWIW. Everyone likes to beat up on executives, many times rightly so but they don’t speak up and/or Do The Right Thing actually. There is a court case against Nike right now for harassment. Google for it.

I’m having a similar issue and am also a minority. 1) How do you prove sabotage, 2) Is direct sabotage by a superior illegal or explicitly prohibited by Nike policy for reasons other than discrimination (eg to protect their own or their cronies’ growth)?

Doesn't sound like you have anything bad enough to cause any action by HR or any government office. I would find a new job either at nike or somewhere else. I have moved departments multiple times because I have not liked working with the leadership in that team. After you move I would then at least make an anon complaint via nike's hr system. HR won't tell you what they did if anything but at least it is something on the record and then move on with life.

I’ll add that there are ways this team can contribute significantly more to Nike ( and rest of us). But this person wants to preserve their kingdom ( which has resulted in the awful low value work from high value skills) so does not facilitate a environment where I can bring that about.

Damage to me personally is severe anxiety to the point I pondered taking a short term disability leave. Coming in every day and struggling to do my job my leadership is asking me to do.

Damage to Nike and rest of us is Nike is better off investing in stock market for better return than what it gets from this team.

Their strategy seems to be frustrate me enough so my options are either rubber stamp their low value work without questioning or due diligence ( which is my job) or move elsewhere in Nike.

What are your damages due to this sabotaging? Do you think you would of been promoted?

I’d suggest use the grounds of direct sabotage, if you have clear evidence. Leading with being a minority takes away from your case, you have to have direct evidence they were being racist to you, etc.

That a little harder to prove unless they clearly stated on slack or company phone or social media.

Just my 2 cents
