Blue Oval Park Michigan yet another tax payer rip off

Well researched and unsettling
https://starkmanapproved.com/the-ev-exploitation-of-michigan-taxpayers/

It’s a mystery why Michigan so gullible when Tennessee could see thru the BS? (Or is it really a mystery)

Ford said it will invest $3.5 billion to construct the battery plant, called “Blue Oval Park Michigan.” Ford pledged the plant will employ 2,500 people with pay ranging from $20 to $50 an hour. That means Michigan is giving Ford $400,000 in incentives for every job Ford promised to create.

That is 3X the money Tennessee initially proposed before pulling the plug.

All the while previous scams continue and expand

LG Chem, an electric battery plant in Holland, MI, that received $125 million in Michigan funding on top of considerably more federal funding. Granholm proudly declared the plant would help make Michigan the world capital for advanced batteries.
LG Chem was forced to return some of its government funds after a federal investigation revealed that paid workers were watching movies and playing games because delays in the production and demand for electric vehicles, namely GM’s Chevrolet Volt, did not meet initial expectations. The Holland battery plant is still in operation, and Michigan last year announced millions more in incentives to expand the operation.

@1lsj exactly! Who wants a Mach-e that goes 200 miles and then needs a couple hour charge? Likewise, who wants an F150 to tow their boat up north and has to stop in Flint, Pinconning, West Branch and G-ylord to recharge? We are still 8, 9, 10 years from the battery technology being adequate. F-ing Billy is going to learn the hard way that you cant force demand. Anybody remember Sony Beta max or Laser disks? Now you can put 10 hollywood blockbusters on a thumb drive.

Large percentage of Lightning deliveres are being backed out of. There is one on the local lot here that has been sitting there for weeks.

Nobody I know has ever said "I want a mach E". The one person I did know traded it in after a few months due to extreme range anxiety.

We are screwed. If you're not looking for another job then you get what's coming to you.

@1aek "The excitement the public has shown for EV's and the unique mobility services and apps they provide is indisputable."

Are you on fentanyl? The public is not convinced, so stop with the head-in-the-clouds routine. Spewing marketing BS is the fastest way to lose credibility. You can blow this smoke up your bosses keester to show him what a team player you are, but most of know the truth.

Fake hype? I totally disagree. The excitement the public has shown for EV's and the unique mobility services and apps they provide is indisputable. Any of the leading automotive media is in support and so are other outlets.

The result of fake hyped demand of ev cars and seeing a need to increase supply to meet that fake demand will only end in economic destruction. Money grab on company side and “oh I’m creating 21st century jobs” on the other side… maybe batteries and battery plants will be the asbestos/mesothelioma of the 2050s/2060s….

Interesting to see Microvast - GMs China battery partner government funding is being scrutinized by Wash DC and Biden admin. Next up Ford’s China partner. And the house of cards crumbles

@dhi questionable ethics when the company did not do the right thing to begin with. Whistle-blowers reported the unethical behavior; fed govt investigated the reports; found they were accurate and took actions against the company. Personally don’t think they should be given another chunk of tax-payer $ as people/companies rarely change their spots.

Very twisted logic to say the equivalent of its not my fault I stole the money because the cash register was open and the cashier was on break.

Suggest you keep your day job because you missed represented the article. Although I agree they should pay back the money; it is not the Holland plant fault that the work to build batteries was never sent from the parent company. Now since that has changed, there are getting their incentive back.

some states and political environments are more open to money laundering scams and joint ventures with communists than others.... Michigan more open to that than Tennessee maybe?
