Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

How many of us....

This site is anonymous so I will just throw it out there. I am a CSE 2 and work 100% remotely. I am at 90-120% of quota each month without having to leave my house or do much, honestly. I have had a second job (where I also work 100% from home) for the past 14 months and I won't say where I work, but it is a similar position. I'm curious how many people like me are out there. There are times when I am double-booked for conference calls or team calls but so far I have been able to get away with it. I feel zero shame because I have been relatively successful doing both jobs and I will always do what I have to in order to take care of my family.

@4vgk+1lnmTOYb go tell your CSE that this morning. Directly tell the CSE how all they are is a glorified order taker. You won't though. You'll just complain about them here, on an anonymous board with a puffed up chest. I really hope, for your CSE's sake, they get moved off your accounts, someone inexperienced takes the empty slot, and you are left to really do all the work. Good luck Sparky!

"SAL’s do all the work. CSE’s are order takers and do not do any selling. As T eliminates SAL’s your ability to have 2 full time jobs will be very hard."

Obviously, this post was from a SAL, and it enlightens me as a CSE to see this SAL's true colors. It is one I have thought many SALs have had.
Your CSE and AM, if you are lucky enough to have one, are the reason why you, as a SAL, are able to have the engagements with the Director Levels that you do. If the orders are not taken and handled properly, and the people at the lower levels not singing the praises of how easy your sales team is to work with, then you won't even come close to getting a seat at the table. Furthermore, as a CSE, I have established such a good relationship with most of my customers, that they don't contact the SAL or the Director when they have an issue. They call me, because they know that the issue will be cared for. They also know if they call the Director or the SAL, all they will do is come cry to me for help.
So go call your customer contacts and BS with them at lunch, and let the grown ups handle the work. When you need someone to actually come in and demonstrate the process or actually be able to describe how a product works, the TSC and I will handle that. Go enjoy your Diamond Club vacation, and let us get the orders in that will help to get the numbers up so you can enjoy next year's vacation. But please don't tell me how you do "all the work". Up yours dude!

You’re gross and people like you are exactly what ruins it for other hardworking telecommuters. You should have shame and the fact that you don’t is really disgusting.

If you are given a W2 from your other employer, they can find out. Just warning you.

"As the company dials down the sales force, expect to be impacted. Nobody I know in sales can stay home and be successful. It’s too competitive out there to not be in front of customers."

I disagree. There are some very successful sales people that can (out) perform from home without seeing their customers. Some customers - including senior level decision makers - work primarily from home also and prefer not to see sales people in person.

I’ve worked a part time job since September while working my sales job at T and I know a couple other who do the same thing. T doesn’t give a sh*t about its employees. Why the he-l should we employees care? I’m actually a Platinum MM seller and I have more than enough time to work a second job at home. My manager expects me to visit my top customers on a regular basis and that is more than manageable.

“I know of many people that have customers that are already switching and have told the Account Manager that "they will not work with them"
You can’t possibly believe this drivel.. customers will not change services because Billy is no longer their rep, get real. Cost of change to business is significant and certainly out weighs a vendor contact… you people are silly. Just another example of how out of touch T employees are.

Hurray, this is the way to do it! anyone else criticizing this approach is a schmuck and doesn't get how to work in the world of 2023 and beyond..

Companies take advantage of labor any chance they get , so taking advantage of a company (your not really as you're presumably still getting T's work done) during this WFH period is a the right idea for those inclined to work a second job. I applaud the efforts. Corporations are cheered by shareholders for moving jobs overseas or automating work so its all fair for you to maximize your work when the opportunity to do so presents itself.. Old cranks here still think this is the 1960's T with a pension and a loyalty ethos, these folks need to get their head examined.

"So true, BAT is simply an order processing group, they don’t sell , just collect orders from other segment teams. It will end sooner than later for them too. I know at least 2 that have their numbers by the first week of the month, every month from handouts. Good for them, bad for the company."

While that is true for some cases I would say majority of BAT held actual relationships with customers and are the ones really being hurt. I know of many people that have customers that are already switching and have told the Account Manager that "they will not work with them"

Well this is why they are taking accounts from the BAT team and made Platinum. Too many people doing nothing and getting paid off others. Unfortunately the good people that were actually closing the sales now have to suffer for the lack of work of others.

Glad to see the employees of T have such high moral standards. And people wonder why the company has bad leadership. The employees are no better…

Be sure to use your kids SSN for job 2. A simple credit check ($28) per employee will reveal your current employer (or employers) to an agency investigating dub-dub dippers like you.

I’m too busy to work a double job at the same time. Kudos to those that aren’t. I just wish I got paid overtime.
