Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Job search

What is the longest it took you to find a new job? It doesn't matter if you've been employed or not while searching, I'm interested in the longest period it took you to receive a serious offer you were willing to accept. I'm getting a bit discouraged in my search so I'd like to hear about others' experiences.

Try other industries like financial services. They’re picking up more tech talent with increasing industry layoffs.

9 months. Finished biz school in May 2008. Started job January 2009. Not fun.

After that 6 months. Laid off at e/o March; offer signed 1st week of September. I did turn a couple down in the interim, though.

Genuine question...
Whats the rush?
Would you not take some time for yourself? Enjoy the summer, travel a bit maybe..

I've not been offered yet but if it comes my way I reckon I'll jump in the RV and hit the road for a couple of months.

First time I left, I had a job within a month. When I left that job, three years later it took 3 months to find a comparable job. I was 40, operations, and salary was around $125k

If you are in software (software engineering), it all boils down to passing the technical interviews on data structures and algorithms. If you can do the coding on a white board while explaining your reasoning relative to the problem (probably two or more low to medium leetcode/hackerank level questions), then you can probably land the job quickly (3-4 weeks). If you need time to study and prepare, shoot for 6 months…

When in doubt, commit white collar crime. Just make sure you stash the loot somewhere so you can have start-up capital to put to work after you’ve built-out your network of crooked cronies while in a minimum security prison. Your bench press and FG% will go up, too.

Why aren’t more people stealing from companies that steal from society on behalf of the uber-wealthy?

Age, Grade and what kind of Job?

If you are a tech should be easy, if you more aged and higher grade could become more challenging depending on your skill set and experience.
