It works for Frito because they actually pay their reps good. It won't work here since we don't pay for quality employees.

I know this situation may seem dire.. MDLZ is going to a merchandising structure so I get it. the model works for Frito. The good news is that if this restructure was going to happen, now is the perfect time with the economy doing so good. 500,000 jobs added in January. there are more jobs than people and they are paying good. if your aggressive you will get a job quickly

There do offer you a career coach. They don’t help you find a job but help you get your resume up to date, linkedin updated, and have a lot of webinars available on their site to coach you thru interviews, etc. Myself not having interviewed in 23 yrs ( basically before internet) it was very helpful to me. You don’t have to wait until you’re finished to get the help. Reach out to your HR and they can go ahead and get you set up. For me it helped to be ready to send out resumé’s the day after my last day.

That’s a huge problem in our country….too many handouts! The system is designed to give people a “hand up” but it’s become a “hand out”. With severance and unemployment (and you can work PT and still collect unemployment), those should give you time to find work!
Nicole, good luck! Use this as an opportunity to come out stronger!

Don’t let “single mom with three kids” define you! Lots of people with sad stories out there, but change things up! Be the mom your kids need and instead of seeking out help, create opportunities! This can be a defining time for you and show your kids what you got!
Sure, take unemployment, but use this time to find work!! Show your kids what you’re made of!

You’ll get a severance and unemployment. Remember that they don’t tax unemployment, but you will have to pay taxes on it.
There are plenty of jobs out there, just find a new one. While I hope you are able to get child support, the best thing you can do for yourself is pretend it doesn’t exist. If you get it, use it for a vacation! Don’t be held hostage to that payment.

That is a real shame. One of my kids is a special need child that needs constant medical care. Not sure what we're going to do Since my husband left in won't pay child support.

Sometimes their severance will include some job assistance, helping with skills to get you rehired. As far as I remember it was worthless! They really don’t care about their people, that’s for sure!
Good luck.
