Racism is in the eye of the beholder.
I chose not to buy this B.S. woke culture where everything is attributed to some type of an ism (racism, s-xism, ageism, etc.).
I believe in working hard, doing good and treating everyone fairly, all of which has worked out really great for me. GLTA
DUH, the root cause of the problem is the overabundance of unqualified minorities hired for window dressing ("quotas").
Keep the qualified ones and get rid of the lo$ers and watch our ROI grow!
That’s kind of patronizing right ? Accommodate seems to imply they don’t belong and promote them sounds like they don’t deserve promotion
EM, and O&G in general, absolutely have issues with racism, and almost all of it is targeted towards people of color. Full stop.
That said, a lot of tangible progress has been made, and things are nowhere near as bad as they were even five years ago. I’m not talking about the “cosmetic” DEI initiatives that are designed to legally shield managers for acting on racist impulses. I’m talking about people, of all races, who let go of prejudices and decided to get on with working in the best way possible. That matters. That’s progress.
Always remember that the corporatists have stoked racial division since the 1890s to drive wedges in the labor movement. With the talk of unionizing they’re pulling out all the stops to pit workers against one another. Don’t fall for it.

People looking this hard for “racist” things are likely racist themselves. There is blatant racism (which I haven’t seen at EM and I am a minority), but this stuff is trying to find racism in the tea leaves. It would be like trying to say that if the cafeteria serves watermelon and fried chicken at same place they are being racist. This is just absurd.
The company treats everyone equal bad.
