To whoever posted this info, could you share some additional details? Is there a name for this, or a KA document number at life@ford?

"Now, if you are put on a PEP, you can leave with 6 months salary immediately, or aim to improve."

If I am put on an improvement plan, then I am done with this place and the faux leadership. I will be gladly accepting the 6 months and leave my badge and laptop on the table while I walk out.

Look at the positive of not getting severance pay if you leave. Ford could give you a FREE F 150 Lightning that you have to push everywhere. YABBA-DABBA-DOO! LMAO!

Sh-t I’ll take the 6 months severance now and be done with it. This company is completely going down the tubes.

Why to improve and prove what? That too in a failing company
Just leave with a good severance

So basically if you’re out on a PEP it’s best to take the 6 months and go. The writing is on the wall. Cost savings of 3 months to the company if you qualified under the 9 months for SIRP. Way to go FoMoCO. Totally feel appreciated.

Farley is nothing. The id--t was at right place right time and sucked up to Alexandra to get the BoD and Ford family approval as CEO. Take a look at Ford's BoD, none are competent to make any decisions to guide sucessful vehicle production, let alone a so-called company transformation. Add all the fakes hired in, Doug Field, Alan C, FLV, J Park, etc etc and all the BS of goin all in EV. Look at all the programs in the studios, all are a mess, none of the ' leadership ' are capable of makign decisons and they blame staff.
Wall street made it clear terminate Farley ASAP or the stock is going to take a hit. Lawler is all jittery knowing headcount reductions are coming to balance the books. Bout time these failures get exposed and fired starting with Franck Louis Victor and the directors of Next. Moran the mo--n is laughed at CES. Canopy is going nowhere. Latitude is another smokescreen to funnel and hide the family's money, Sammy never accomplished anything. It's a mess. Expect another 3000 cuts before summer. Sad and pathetic. Shame on BF.

Last fall, HR quietly changed the PEP policy. Now, if you are put on a PEP, you can leave with 6 months salary immediately, or aim to improve. But, if you chose the improvement option and they deem you didn't, you get fired with no severance. Also, they amended the policy so that entire groups (e.g. depts) can be put on a PEP. Evil at its finest.

Remember if you get fired you can claim unemployment

It all started when mark fields took the helm from mullaly and his big plan was to build brick and mortar. Ford land and the ford family would have benefited from that. Well that backfired and we got potato chip bag Hackett and the end of car production. Then Covid and the Ev revolution. Farley has done nothing to excite the beat up ranks and all the while the FCG classes of 1988 thru 1992 are retiring.

Perfect storm of a $hit storm

Does the company have 4 years worth of work for the UAW? Will they get the guarantees they want in their contract? What happens when the UAW decides to shut F150 production down? Where is the money for Model E going to come from?

GM employees received 1 month of severance and will get 2 more if they sign an NDA and an agreement not to sue. The severance deal is the same whether the employee was there for 1 year or 30. There are articles in business sites like WSJ talking about how low-performance reviews are the new way to layoff the masses and SAVE MONEY. It's beyond revolting and very "party now, pay later" type thinking.
Whether or not Ford does this is anyone's guess but it's the trend, so it's not out of the question.

Why do they need to give severance? Between retirements and the separations of the last few years, they have already eliminated a large share of the people who could sue.

That’s insane. No severance? Where is this coming from? From my understanding, if you get on a PEP you can either try to improve or rage the severance and say goodbye. When did this change?

Has the SIRP changed? That sounds beyond stupid

Some real nasty things going on with Lawler's team - Ford family are furious that headcount hasnt been reduced more - brace yourself is right, for NA, another 3000 are getting cut and this time no severance.

@jwg

It certainly didn't feel like it at the time, but we we're definitely the lucky ones! The grass really is greener outside of Ford

Let’s see Elon banks more $ from sale of EV than GM & Ford combined bank for both ICE+EV. Ford instead of just admitting they are laying of people due to financial and mismanagement reasons, acts despicably by pretending that it is laying of “poor performers”.
Some PEP just show up on quarterly review and then presto you are a poor performer.
Some are retroactive and people leaders like LL5s claim conversations were had the previous quarter. You know who you are mh.

People keep talking about being under pep / pip / performance review... how do you get to that point, is it a conversation? Or could you be flagged without knowing it

PEPs followed by severance free layoffs.

Those they got laid off last year were the lucky ones!
