This was a big bait and switch. USB said they would keep the frontline employees , that’s not happening. They wanted more people moved over from UB because this was a talent play, that was a lie. They wanted folks to do the divesture and merger because they don’t have folks who know how to do something this big. Now they won’t give UB folks a shot at job postings. The over used “ manage your career”is a cop out answer from weak leaders.
How much of this is consolidation though? The small branch closest to my home has a sign up that says they're closing in may, but really they're just moving 3 blocks down to where union has a bigger and newer stand alone branch building.
No we’re not “ practically closing all the branches in CA”. There are several hundred locations in CA.
“Why did they buy Union Bank to get bigger in CA, only to close all the branches and terminate the employeee???? I don’t get it“
Because USB only wanted the customers and the data, they never wanted the locations or the talent.
MUFG had about 300 branches and we already had lots of locations in CA. There will still be hundreds left.
Wow, that is crazy. How isn’t this bigger news???? They are practically closing all the branches in CA. Why did they buy Union Bank to get bigger in CA, only to close all the branches and terminate the employeee???? I don’t get it
Scanning that list of proposed branch closures you wonder will there be any U.S. Bank branches left in California?
