Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Canopy…can this fund this our future?

Post ID: @1rnt+1ltib9YR
“Time to expose inferior leadership.
Frank Louis Victor - came from Renault, did nothing with Mobilize and continues to do nothing other than bleed and drain BILLIONS at Ford.
Christian Moran - Canopy, another fake, no accomplishments at Ford and ridiculed recently at CES
more to come.
ACCOUNTABILITY”

Does anyone believe Canopy will produce revenue?
Is this the best we have from the billions spent by Ford Next?
Canopy was announced over a year ago, WHERE IS IT IN THE MARKET?
Would we be better off saving engineers by axing Canopy?

Everybody but Bill Ford and Farley want to know the real story.

Farley’s version of Moore’s law - double the hype around EV, AV, data and subscriptions every two months.

How in the world can you say that? We only just started the subscription-based revenue model. Are you a fortune teller or something? It may not be the single profit-stream for the company, but it will be a growing and significant. BlueCruise has already exceeded expectations.

Canopy is a huge waist of time and resources.

Any car subscription services can and will be hacked.

I would never pay a subscription for anything.

No. Subscriptions in general will not fund our future. We are headed toward a recession (if not already in one), inflation is out of control, and people are losing their jobs. The first thing they will cut when they need to save money are their subscriptions. This is a poor business model assumption on the part of JF and BF.

There will be lawsuits when the cameras fail and vehicles are stolen. Making promises we cannot keep….

I’d like to see the revenue projections on the spreadsheets they used for this. If they’re projected subscription charge is more than $6/month, they need to make a revisions. There are many competitors today at about that rate, time will, tell which survive. Canopy is not likely to be one of them, other than to some Ford vehicle buyers.

Peter Principal in action, they’ve risen as far as brown nosing will take their levels of incompetence.

Is Canopy like those wireless birdfeeder cameras advertised on the Web? I looked at those a thought why not epoxy your own WIFI/Bluetooth camera to a birdfeeder and call it done. No fees or subscriptions and probably less expensive to make. Ford a day late and a dollar short, typical.

If you’ve seen the Canopy CEO lately, it’s obvious he is in over his head and totally stressed out. Looks terrible and says unkind things about FLV and Farley

There’s a reason it’s called Ford Next, not Ford Now; it’s the old “free beer tomorrow” ploy, telling analysts the profits will always be sometime later.

Canopy will not be the top profit center in Ford. Get real already.

But Canopy will add to Ford's bottom line revenue with minimal investment as is the intent from our data-based subscription services.

Easy test. Google search “in vehicle security cameras.” Dozens of choices come up, none of them are Canopy, which was announced January 2022 yet us still not available.

Late to market + Ford only product + more cost effective competitors = failure.

@OP Please stop it with this never-ending bashing of Canopy and the leadership. I don't understand what grudge you have against FLV or CM.

I don't have any inside info, but I believe Canopy will make money for Ford and will generate profits in 2-3 years once the service is integrated with new vehicle sales.
