How about Steve Jobs ? Not exactly an ex-Cisco employee and not exactly alive anymore unfortunately, but just imagine him taking over Cisco.

Steve Jobs? Someone over 40 at the time he left this world.

There is common consensus on this board that people over 40 have no drive, no vision. No way he would be welcome at Cisco. Sorry, propose someone else, please.

When he came back to Apple in late 90s, Apple was on life support .. close to going bankrupt. Now it's one of the most successful and profitable companies in the world.

What a spectacular turnaround!

KK was the start of the buyback debacle. And GM was great for operations but is not ceo material.

Former leaders? Why? Do you really want the nepotism and caste system back (yes, I am aware of that some are still around but at least no longer seen in the SVP or EVP level)? To me, Chuck is the best CEO because CSCO has been up since he took the office.

Chambers. He would not have lost sight of business and not let Cisco become the woke culture it is today.

Tony Bates' departure from the engineering organization marked the end of the era of strong Cisco engineering leaders. It's been all down hill since then.

At this point, no past Cisco leader could return and make a difference. It's too late.

JayShree and Chambers. We need real business and architectural leadership back.

The woke culture is to distract from salaries not keeping up with inflation at Cisco beneath the Director level. It's working rather well.

Joe Pinto for sure... And bring back Chambers. At least he led with something other than a woke culture.

+1 for Tony Bates. Also Mike Volpi. The rest are vomit inducing, slimy sales people.

Yes I know he sadly passed away in 2021, but you didn’t specify the rules. But for me it’s Rick Justice
