Just curious how many directors/sr directors a company needs? Way to promote the management level and not the people doing the work.

We are split into the haves and have nots. It should be apparent what bucket you’re in.
Not enough layers at the bottom to give employees experience with leading. WAY too many at the top where they can give each other more and more bonuses. The layoffs a couple years ago hurt the people at the bottom long term because management thinks "less layers" is a positive. It is...but not in the part of the org chart you are thinking about.
