Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Seeing the Ford F-150 Lightning, I am so glad Ford doesn't make airplanes anymore

I know it sounds like a joke when F-150 Lightning caught on fire in production line, but isn't this a relief Ford isn't making airplanes? Given how well they build automobiles, if they make airplanes, it would be as bad as Yakovlev, not even as good as Tupolev or Ilyushin

It reminds me of cr---y Soviet planes:
The quality of planes by unskilled workers were so awful they kept crashing, it must be stopped before too late! So Vladimir Petlyakov wanted to talk about this to the higher-ups in Moscow, and he died after the plane crashed immediately after take off due to mechanic failures.

My memory is declining and it is increasingly difficult for me to tell the difference between Ford and Soviet.

What is really wild is that people are working on battery powered planes...

It's almost impossible to get a lithium ion battery on a plane after the hoverboard fires but they are going to power planes with thousands of pounds of those hoverboard F150 batteries? C'mon man! You think I'm joking.

Comparing Ford to the Soviet aerospace industry during WW2 is apples to bananas. Even the quality of Ford built B-24H and Js can be questioned. More than a few people have told me and I have also read that AAF acceptance crews often found issues with control surface cable routings in Ford built B-24s.
