Someone was flat out told from another insurance payer that you are qualified but ee cant hire you as we don't want the Optum/UHC culture to infect our company.

On the positive side, if the person interviewing you has ever worked for Optum, they won't feel a need a to ask why you left.

It does have to deal with layoffs, because if you are layoff optum is still on your resume

Absolutely! I’d almost be better off saying I’m unemployed currently than saying I work for Optum. The unemployed would probably get the job first because they don’t want to hire anyone associated with them.
